Cisco waited for Caitlin to arrive on pins and needles. It was honestly how he felt the entire time he'd been there, like he was holding a breath he couldn't release. He wasn't sure if she was real or if he just wanted her to be, and so the entire time he waited he paced. He hadn't really been himself since arrival, but he was in pain. He blamed it on that. Maybe he'd start to feel far less paranoid if they were able to figure out something for his hands. He didn't realize how much the physical pain effected the mental, he had a lot going on.

Goodland didn't help. Frost was absolutely right about the name being suspicious as hell, and he wanted to poke the bear as much as he could without causing harm to the others. He was siphoning money from it slowly over time, testing what he could and couldn't do. He was even now in a prime position to start creating a system that would monitor that city. Cisco didn't like being "blind" in there, it made him more nervous.

Caitlin had had a few ideas since Cisco had been injured, mostly after the discovery off meta tech. Items infused with dark matter, it turned out, could be just as dangerous as Metas. And Cisco's hands had been hurt by the dagger. Maybe there were still traces. It was worth looking into.

And she was worried about him too. Even Frost had been worried enough to forgo the chance of drinks with the space guy just so Caitlin could go and check on her friend. Their friend really. There was nothing Caitlin wouldn't do to help him out of a bad time. And it seemed being here had thrown him for a loop.

Maybe her being here, maybe if she really could help him with his hands, he'd feel better about their situation. At least enough to get back to himself and figure them a way out of this.

She knocked on the door. She didn't knnow if the roommate was here after all.

"Cisco?" she called

Without his tech was one thing, but he was also without his powers. That was an entirely different monster. That added to all the other little monsters in his brain telling him he wasn't good enough. Saying he wasn't smart enough to get them out. Insisting he didn't belong there if he couldn't help. If that was the case, what good was he? The knock at the door caused a pause to pacing feet and his downward spiral of which he was eternally grateful for. Cisco wasn't used to so much negativity and fear flooding his mind, but he couldn't see through the fog. Not on his own anyway. Not without a little help.

And there it was, standing behind the door. When he opened it, Caitlin got a sudden hug from the engineer who didn't care who saw them. In the hallway, hugging like weirdos. He'd only been there a week, but it was the longest he'd been away from he and STAR Labs on his own in quite a few years. He'd had no way to contact, no way to set his nerves at ease.

"Hey Caitlin." He only let go of her after a few minutes of making certain she was actually real and standing there in front of his face. He let her in, the apartment was pretty clean-but it wasn't like he had many things.

His hands were wrapped, and bleeding again. He'd been trying to vibe. Trying to open a portal, he was getting nowhere. Getting nothing except a headache of epic proportion. He let her in and gave a strained sort of smile. "Stiles went out, it's just us."

The hug was unexpected but not unwelcome, not at all. He was her best friend and if she had to be stuck here in 'Goodland' she was glad it was with him. Though she was worried about him. The smile he gave her was far from the usual Cisco. And his hands...his hands were wrapped up again. He'd probably tried to use his powers again.

She decided not to dance around the issue.

"I think there might still be some...fragments in your hands. From the dagger. I want to try and remove them but obviously I'll need clinical conditions. But I hear they have some kind of medical centre set up here so we'll look into that as soon as we can."

But that wasn't the only reason she was here.

"But before we do that, I want you to talk to me. You're not yourself right now and I'm worried. I know a lot of it's being here, but you're worrying me.

"Fragments...That makes sense." Damn powers caused pain to use, but they'd been counting on him. He wanted to do something, but he could do nothing. "There was a kid here..when I got here. He was freaking out. " Kids were hard, always would be. Cisco had taken it to heart that he was supposed to get them out of there, and it as a result caused him to feel the weight of the world. Something he'd never experienced really. Not like this, not like Barry. He knew his friend carried it often, but now it appeared to be his turn and it was crushing him.

"They told him I'd be able to find a way out. I can't. My powers don't work, I'm not smart enough to.." His voice trailed off a bit, he was clearly frustrated and pacing a bit. Ranting even."They said I was "really smart and I could." Finger quotes and the whole sarcastic shebang, but obviously he wasn't feeling very smart anymore.

"I can't even pinpoint what Earth we're on, or what frequency this is. It's like being blind." It scared him more than the kid, not having his powers properly synced or access to satellites to tell them. "Solid science doesn't exist." He had no footing, he needed something to stand on. He believed in magic but he wasn't ready for it to be his netting yet on an unknown place.

"If I can remove them, the logical conclusion is you get your powers back. It will take a bit of time, maybe more than one sitting. We remove every little fragment and give your hands time to heal. It'll be tricky but I'll get you back Vibing. I promise."

When Cisco talked about the kid, Caitlin was a little confused. Not with the kid as such but the other stuff. "Cisco...who told him? Who said you'd be able to find a way out? Because you are smart. You are, and if you disagree with me, I'll let Killer Frost give you her own special brand of pep talk. You need to tell me who put that on you. Because that's too much. That's way too much pressure to put on any one person."

If she was honest, she was angry. Cisco had taken a massive hit to his confidence, being here, being without his powers. Not having the technology to work out where they were, she knew it'd be driving him nuts. But someone had made him feel inadaquate and she was going to freeze them into next week.

"The science is here, and we'll find it. It's hard. It's weird. And like Frost said, it's shady. But we'll figure it out. We're Cisco and Caitlin. We'll work it out. But I don't ever want to hear you say you aren't smart. Okay?"

"Sam Wilson has a clinic. He's been getting the bandages. He knows about me, my powers. This place is different than home, nobody hides, I don't know if that's a good thing or not but I wanted to give them some kind of hope. Instead..I just.." He hadn't been able. He'd hurt himself in the long run being unable to do anything for them and holing away as a result. "If you can..he'll probably let us go there." He sat at the edge of the couch and just watched her for a minute. "I said I'd try. I am trying. It's just not enough."

Cisco without technology was uncomfortable. "I don't remember who it was. I just remembered that..I'd never met them before." He frowned. "They were just trying to be comforting. Everyone was freaked out. I've at least done this before. Tried to get them to think it was routine. It's not their fault." He would do the same thing Barry would if i was his world to protect and there was no Flash. He was pretty sure any member of their little team would have tried to step up, only in his case it backfired on him a little. "There were a lot of comments to keep up with." But that one would stick in anyone's mind. The comment alone even if not the commenter.

That comment drew a real smile and he nodded. "Shady as hell. I don't trust anyone calling itself an entity, and the security here is weirdly easy to hack." He didn't know what that meant. "I can do it from a tablet." When she mentioned Frost giving him a pep talk he held up his hands with an actual laugh. "I'm good, I'm pepped."

"Then I'll talk to him and set something up." She actually didn't mind the idea of people knowing about their powers. Frost was most definitely on the side of good now so she wasn't worried about her going rogue or anything. She understood Cisco's wariness and everything but it made some level of sense to her. He might be happier if she could fix his hands. Get his powers back. It would give him something to focus on.

A stray comment though, it could do a lot of damage and it seemed it had. "You were trying to help. Keep people calm. I understand that. But honestly, you can't put this on yoursef, it's too much. All you need to do is your best and I don't for a second you'd do anything less. But you're not the only one here. We'll keep trying, keep figuring out just what brought us here and why. Lets see if we can make them a little less jubilent and get out of here and back home."

The threat of a Killer Frost pep talk did seem to have cheered him up a bit. She could do that at least. Keep his spirits up even a little.

"Shady or not, I'm glad I'm here. There's no one else I'd rather be stuck in shady 'Goodland' with.

Cisco nodded to that as he settled on the edge of that couch. "He's a good man from what I can tell. Helped me when he didn't have to." Sure that was kind of a doctor's job, but they were in an entirely different universe possibly. He didn't have to. Being rid of the pain he was in would help. He didn't realize how much it actually effected his mental state since he'd been there.

"I tried anyway" He frowned a little as he lifted a foot to lean on his knee. He was pretty sure that lady hadn't meant for her comment to do so much damage, and honestly at the time Cisco didn't realize how much weight those words held until recently when he carried it. "I've been keeping notes the more I find out about this place, but admittedly I haven't been out at all in a few days." He'd sort of holed up after his emotion got the better of him and his frustration took over.

"Me too. Maybe this entity will show itself and you can make a Popsicle of it." He grinned. He'd like to see that. "Wanna stick around a while? I'll make dinner." Sometimes he did actually cook, like for special occasions when friends showed up. He didn't always lean on fast food. Only most of the time.

That had her worried, that he hadn't been out. It wasn't like him. One stray comment and that was that. He'd been dragged down to believing he wasn't good enough. It was her job to remind him that he absolutely was. So she'd talk to Sam. She'd get the lab sorted and she'd do what she could to fix his hands. "I'll set it up." she said simply. "And we'll get you better, and then we'll keep investigating."

She looked down at her hands for a moment as he mentioned popsicles.

"I figured out I can kind of close wounds with my powers. A couple of other things too, me and Frost, we've kind of connected in a way we never could before. Like, if you wanted to talk to her all I'd have to do is think about it and there she is. Ready for jubilent popsicles." she added amused. She knew if anyone could figure this place out it was Cisco, and she was happy to help him do it.

"Dinner sounds perfect. We have a lot of catching up to do after all."

Cisco had been having a hard time, but maybe now with Caitlin there he could relax a little more. He good with people, but he still had his insecurities and that comment had dragged up a word of them. He knew it was ridiculous, but he couldn't help but take it to heart.

"Really?" clearly he hadn't gotten that far in their timeline. He had no idea she could do things like that. He was impressed. He laughed at her comment about jubilant Popsicle and nodded. "That's awesome. I didn't know you could do all that." He was already more comfortable around Caitlin in a few hours than he had been around Stiles in a few weeks. The pain had taken a toll on him. Using his powers had become a big part of his life, and he hadn't realized how big until he couldn't properly do it.

"I think we do. Make yourself at home and I'll get started then." He motioned to a couch or chair, or generally wherever she wanted to sit and hang out, and he slipped into the kitchen.
