WHO: Hope Mikaelson & Open
WHERE: Outside the Villa
WHEN: Tuesday night
WARNINGS: Wolfing out maybe? Teen angst for sure and cursing

Hope wasn't have an easy time. Not having anticipated a full moon while they were in a new location, she'd chosen to forgo the transformation. She didn't know where would be safe to go, to start. Then there were the other werewolves around—she could smell them—and she didn't feel like running into them like this. Besides, the whole thing hurt, so if she could avoid it, why not? Except she felt the unresolved magic bubbling under her skin all night and then she'd had thoughts about her dad showing up—or any of her family, really. That had left her an emotional mess and... UGH. Unlike last time, the crying she'd done hadn't made her feel any better. It was days later and she was still buzzing with it.

There were too many people in the room, and even though she still wasn't sure what the punishment for breaking curfew was, she was pretty sure it couldn't be worse than whatever she was going to do if she stayed there for one more second. Besides, neither of the guardians seemed to have magic so she was pretty sure she could take them if it came down to it. Which it might.

Out on the street, the city still felt like Satan's sweaty taint, and she was so tempted to cast some kind of spell to alleviate the heat, but there were still people around who might see her. Not as close as in the room, and other city sounds covered up the noise of them breathing, so it was at least slightly more bearable than the room she'd come from, crowd-wise. Fists clenched into tight balls and arms crossed over her stomach, she leaned against the walls of their prison while she considered her next move. Staying here was asking to be caught, but maybe that's what she really wanted. There was sure to be a fight if she was. But leaving could let off its own kind of steam.

Oh no. Freddy hoped he didn't look panicked after she let him in on what was bothering her. He didn't want to say the wrong thing and make her feel worse! He moved closer to where Hope sat and rested against his cane. He wanted to sit next to her, but it would be too difficult to get up from that low on the ground. He nearly said, "I'm sorry," but realized he never liked when people said that to him when he felt upset --- it was sort of obvious and sometimes seemed placating. Instead, he said, "It is crap, isn't it? You are finally happy somewhere and then this entity decides to bring you here and even if you like a lot about it, you miss home. And home? It can be anywhere the people you care about are! It doesn't matter how long you've been there." He bit his lip. Did he say too much? Was it at all helpful? "Does it hurt?" He asked after a few seconds. "Not changing? You shouldn't have to hurt."

Even if he did look panicked, luckily Hope wasn't looking to know. She was focusing on not crying. He really was trying to make her feel better, and she appreciated that, but the home she missed wasn't ever coming back. Her face crumpled as the thought occurred to her, a sob hitching in her throat.

This was terrible- where was her distraction?

He swept in to save the day like he could read minds. Blinking hard, she smiled. "It hurts to change. All of your bones break and then reform. Your skin sprouts hair all over, your organs move around... Not doing it doesn't hurt but it's sort of like... an epic sneeze that never comes out. Plus your whole body feels pins and needles like it was asleep."

Freddy winced. He clearly made things worse. Was she crying? Nearly crying? Even her smile didn't encourage him; he knew people hid a lot of things behind a smile. He, however, felt relieved when she started talking. "Oh," he replied softly, "That must be annoying. But you'll be okay? Like your body, I mean?" His cheeks burned when he realized what he asked. "I didn't mean it like that! I just meant, you know, so you don't end up like me!" He jiggled his cane. "I meant like body damage." He should stop talking. Really.

She thought there were a lot more terrible things a person could be than to be like Freddy, but he'd probably heard that kind of thing a lot, so she kept her mouth shut. People could really suck sometimes and she didn't want to be one of them. "No permanent damage. Even if there was, my blood would heal it." Quickly, she wiped at her eyes, turning her head to look at him. "If you wanted to—and I'm not saying you should or would—you could try it. But you have to promise not to die." She'd done that once—never again.
