Peter's Surprise Party!

SURPRISE!

All those under 18 are invited. Adults who care about Peter, MJ, Pepper, or Tony are also invited.

Tony fully admits to going overboard for Peter's surprise 17th birthday party; furthermore, he is not the least bit embarrassed about it. It wasn't too long ago that he thought he'd never celebrate another birthday with the kid so he is not letting this one go by without a bang. He is also desperate to make the day special despite May and Ned not being in Goodland. Guests, therefore, can expect a good time.

Tony rented a local reception hall and pool. Guests will arrive 30 minutes before Peter, who James and MJ distract until party time. They mingle in the hall, which is air conditioned and has seating areas. Light refreshments are available for the guests while they wait. It is decorated with balloons and a "Happy birthday, Peter" banner. Tony requests the guests not use any streamers or noise makers due to Peter's heightened senses. He is a little nervous about the whole yelling "surprise" thing also, but too late now.

Once Peter arrives, the guests will enjoy the pool area. There is a DJ, pool floats, and games. Food includes a hamburger/hot-dog/veggie-burger/veggie-dog bar, a salad bar, a popcorn bar, and emoji cupcakes (Peter knows why). Drinks include mocktails, soda, tea, coffee, and water. Alcoholic beverages are available in the hall for the 21+ crowd.

The party concludes with a fabulous cake. There are chocolate and vanilla layers.

FREDDY is happy to share Peter's birthday with him since Peter went out of his way to be with Freddy on his. He likes being in the water because it makes him feel like everyone else, i.e. he does not need his cane and no one notices a limp. He is shy about his scrawny body so he has a tank top on even while in the pool. He'd chat to everyone and anyone who would let him.

	Freddy gets a hug or two! And Peter is SO HAPPY he's there, and he'll hang out with Freddy and hug him for the presents and tell him he did't have to do anything for him. He'll check on him, see how he's doing and how he's doing with his sister here now and just float with him some. Maybe they can get an epic game of chicken or something going! TONY ended up second guessing the surprise within 24 hours of the party, but the train already left the station. Those who know him well definitely noticed his nervous energy while setting up that morning.

His not so sentimental gift includes these fidget blocks. His sentimental gift includes this tag chain. It has 7-2 etched into one side for this significant reason and the Iron Man and Spiderman symbols etched into the other side. Tony has the matching one.

Peter gave him lots of hugs and was so surprised and loves the fidget blocks and got a little choked up at the tag chain when it hit him what it meant and put it on immediately and hugged him. And thanked him like a million times and didn't even mind his dad deed too much XD Probably just like quietly groaned at the snorkling stuff but was overall bouncy and happy.

Laura has been to literally, like, 0.125& of a birthday party before (July 4th) and has never had one herself so she kind of had to look online to figure out this "present" and "birthday card" stuff. She ended up googling gifts for teenage boys and found a retro Polaroid camera and bought a card that may have been intended for younger audiences. Who knows.

She doesn't actually know how to swim so she avoided the water but she was full into the burgers and popcorn and cupcakes and mocktails (food doesn't expect her to know how to behave at a birthday party, which she totally doesn't). She's been out shopping with Brooke and I think she's experimenting with a kind of low key rock/grunge chic look so the tattoos on her legs are pretty visible, at the very least.

Sam got Peter a copy of God of War - the 2018 version, not the original, which he realised after buying it was kind of weird because it has a bunch of Thor's family in it but whatever, okay, their lives are just weird and it's hard to avoid it sometimes.

Alas, when I search for pics of Anthony Mackie swimming I mostly get
a) Anthony Mackie
b) Seb Stan swimming
c) That one picture of Anthony Mackie wearing a full business suit in a pool

But rest assured he was totally hanging out in the pool, in a normal swim suit, in a generally good mood.

	MJ helped James distract Peter all day. There were probably legos involved or something, IDK, but they got him to the party on time. She's dressed pretty casually with a modest swimsuit underneath. 	JIM, I think, helped with a lot of the planning and set up for the party. He's hanging out keeping an eye on the kids and is definitely comfortable in his pool wear. 	SUSAN helped with some of the decorations for the party and shows up wearing this with a very modest bikini underneath. She's still getting to know this world and technology and what 17 year old boys like in 2019, so she would have looked for some guidance on appropriate gifts before mostl likely giving him something educational that he would enjoy. AUDREY loves Peter to pieces. He's one of the best people here, so of course, she's gonna come to his birthday party. Also, she loves a party. And it's daylight so absolutely zero horror movie risk.

She shows up with plenty of sunscreen for everyone (some of it is glittery Unicorn Snot brand sunscreen if you're feeling sparkly) in a surprising two-piece and denim shorts. And bearing gifts! More Lego (which she was assured by the girl at the second-hand shop had all the pieces) and a note tucked inside a card that says she bought him a six-month subscription of CalmApp.

Jughead isn't going to miss this party for anything. He likes Peter and wants to get to know him better. He's always hated parties, though, so he's a bit awkward. He had no idea what to get for a present, but ended up getting a gift card to the movie theater, and a gift card for a burger joint. He knows it's lame, but that's something he'd like so he thought Peter might like it too.
