I’m not familiar with his dating habits or lack thereof. Maybe we can find someone who is willing to not only make the first move but the following nine as well. After that, the eleventh move is on him. And if she stays for the first ten moves, she likes him.

He lost someone he cared about.

I don’t see what the fuss is about. It cannot be this difficult to date someone. Maybe he needs some kind of singles mixer. Maybe a guys’ night once all of this nonsense is sorted.
