Who: Thor Odinson & Open
What: Thor is having a bad night
Where: A Park
When: Late Friday Night

It started, as it always did, with a small, thin intrusive thought. He had been in his room, which is where he often sequestered himself too when not with the Starks, and had been drinking from the alcohol that had been there. It was a strange feeling, when he was in New Asgard, all he could think about was Asgard, but now that he was here all the could think about was the rolling hills of New Asgard. He wondered if Korg and Meik were okay-- he knew that he wasn’t really absent if all was to be believed, but they were the only people left whom he had sworn to protect, and he couldn’t help but think he was failing.

But that’s what he did, didn’t he? And maybe it was better if they were away from him. What had he done that was worthwhile? He had failed to end three separate genocides--- the people whom he could not protect from Hela before Asgard was destroyed; the people he could not evacuate from the ship before Thanos blew it up; the people of Earth who had been destroyed in the blink of an eye because he could not end Thanos like he should have.

He held his mother's locket in his hand, and for a moment, he thought about his home. If he had been a better brother, could he have saved Loki from the path he’d taken? If he had been more attentive, would he have realized his father was on Midgard and dying? If he hadn’t brought Jane to Asgard-- would his mother still be alive?

Eventually, it was too much. He could feel the crackle of lightening under his skin, and knew he had to get out of the apartment. Fresh air hadn’t helped the half-buzzed craving for more numbness. Thor didn’t pay much mind to how much time he’d spent at the bar, but it was a while. Beer after beer after beer, Thor fell into pleasant numbness.

He wasn’t sure when he left the bar, he didn’t remember the stumble-walk that had taken place to move him to the park. He was laying in the middle of the nature area. It reminded him of Norway, even though he could still see the skyscrapers looming over head, and he sang an old Asgard folk song under his breath as he stared up at the sky, letting small bits of lightning crackle off of him, filling the air with a small bit of static.

Finn was still trying to find his way around the city. It was the biggest place he'd ever been and it wasn't hard to to get lost. Thankfully the small devices they'd been given had a program on them that could point you in the right direction and that was what he was following as he cut through the park.

He spotted the man lying on the grass and he stopped several feet away before he approached. There appeared to be light coming off his skin and Finn wondered if he was injured and needed help or if maybe he was someone from their building who had powers. Regardless, he didn't want to leave the guy just laying there so he apparoached slowly, talking as he went while hoping that the man didn't jump up and try to hurt him.

"Hey," he said cautiously. "you okay? Do you need some help getting home? I'm Finn, I was on my way through the park and saw you."

It had taken a moment for Finn's words to pierce the fog that was Thor's in that moment. He was comfortably numb to everything, as his unfocused eyes traced the stars overhead. He lifted his head to take in the other man, and flash him a somewhat uneven grin.

"I am Thor, son of Odin, God of Failure, King of Ruin." The bitterness of Thor's words cu cut the jovial look that the Asgardian tried to keep on his face. He shook his head though, indicating that he did not need help.

"I am missing Norway," the good admitted, "which in turn, makes me miss Asgard." Thor found that as he began to talk, he couldn't stop. "I went to drink beer, and now I am here enjoying the nature."

"Have you been to Norway, Finn?" Thor's mind was jumping around, but his magical eye remained trained on Finn, even as his normal eye seemed to shift in and out of focus due to the alcohol.
