She was going to do her best to stay on the positive side. Self-deprecating comments aside, Kate couldn't help her nerves and her own levels of self-doubt. Of just never being good enough. Kate brushed her fingers against his jaw first before leaning in to kiss him. While not awkward, it was cautious, testing the new waters, before a mini crab apple pegged her in the shoulder.
Rubbing at it, Kate shook her head with a laugh. "I think they're jealous," she teased.
