Matt couldn't help it. He grinned brightly. Not that she could see it, but hopefully she could hear it in his voice. "You're invisible, not dead. I still have ears, you know. You still have a heartbeat. I can still smell your soap. And honestly? You're really bad at being subtle."
Her efforts weren't entirely wasted. That was the most amused he'd been by anything in a while.
At some point he had noticed the gentle way she confirmed her presence for him. No, she didn't need to. For the reasons he had just given her, he still always knew when she was close by. But it meant a lot that she wanted to help.
"I know you did," he said gently. "And um. Are you seriously prowling around my apartment with no clothes on?" There was no way that wasn't going to be funny. A little concerning. And still not how he'd ever pictured that event. But still. Amusing as hell.
