Colin hadn’t been in the best of moods. Lagertha had taken him in when he was 16, fresh from the war and basically starving. She had done a lot of things for him in the year that he’d been there, she had made him feel safe, and allowed his best friend to move in with them. She’d given him Effie, his irish wolfhound, when it was clear to her that he needed a friend. She put up with his panic attacks and his ptsd. And now she was gone. It was easy to forget that this place was so unstable sometimes. It only made him wonder about what would happen if he were to leave.

He didn’t really have time to focus on that (thankfully) when there were others around him that were in pain. Particularly Arya who had lost her brother. He wasn’t entirely sure how to feel about that, considering that Jon had been terrifying, and he wasn’t completely sure that Jon approved of him, but he wanted to be there to support his girlfriend. It had been enough to focus on her and push all of his thoughts out of his head.

Until, those times, like now when he was home alone. He was laying on the couch, a movie playing on the tv just for the background noise as he laid on his stomach and absently petted the large dog that lay on the floor next to him. Effie picked her head up curiously before the knock even came, and barked happily at the door.

Colin stretched as he got up, and opened it, smiling at Belle. “Uh… Draco isn’t here right now, but uh, you can come in and wait if you want.” Colin smiled.
