"I told you it's practically my middle name these days," she joked, laughing at her own self-deprecation. It kept her ego in check, which tended to rear its head when she least wanted it to. Kate did her best to remain humble, but for every line of ego-stroking banter a villain had, a hero needed five more. She was fairly confident she'd get, at least, a B+ in monologuing.

Coffee was the liquid of life and typically what Kate ran on for hours and days at a time. If she hadn't learned how to make a good cup, Kate was positive she'd be lost forever.

"Okay, that is, hands down, one of the most adorable things I've ever heard. The coffee cake story. Not the creepy funnel cake comment. Which, not cool, Entity! I flipping love funnel cake and now it's ruined." Kate gave a vigorous fist shake toward the ceiling and sighed. To be fair, amusement parks had been tainted before this moment. It just wasn't helping to raise her opinion, though.

"Thanks for letting me come over, by the way. I wasn't sure if you were itching to go trekking through the park, so I figured coffee was a good way to keep you here. Oh! And, what kind of music does one Matt Murdock listen to over coffee and coffee cake?" she asked, scrolling through options.
