Cassie was excited to explore the spooky looking amusement park. Oh, she heeded Steve's warning to be careful (to an extent) - she didn't go alone! Of course, Billy was just a teen like her, but, hey, safety in numbers, right?

"This is so freaken cool," she gushed to Billy as they passed a decrepit roller coaster. It is like the rides have stories they are just itching to tell us." She pointed to an abandoned haunted house. "Let's go in."

Billy wasn't too scared. A healthy amount if nervous, maybe, but he'd tested back in Cancun (words a foster kid never thought he'd say) and his powers still worked here so he was pretty sure if anything got too bad, they'd be okay.

Even if that might mean having to let Cassie in on the secret.

"Yeah, stories like 'so this one time I hacked a guy's head off'," Billy snickered, eyeing a statue of an elephant. He was pretty sure the eyes moved. And he was not a big fan of creepy things with weird eyes. But a cute girl wanted to go to a haunted house and Billy wasn't born yesterday. "So in all the weird stuff this place does...are there actual ghosts?"

He wasn't sure electric zapping powers would even work on ghosts.

	"Nico said there are," Cassie replied, shrugging. "I mean everything else is real here, why not ghosts?" She hurried to the haunted house's entrance and held the door open. "They probably won't bug us, right?" The amusement park had been open a few days and no one had gotten hurt so Cassie wasn't too worried. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Yeah but like...he can communicate with them anyway. That doesn't mean they're up and walking around and talking to us normal people." Billy still wasn't entirely sure how he felt about his brother dating a guy who could control the undead.

"They probably won't bug us sounds like the line you say right before a line of them shows up to tear our skin off." Still, he laughed a little, because the timing out that would have been way too perfect. He took the door from her, batting at a spider web. "I guess no one has been in here since we got here."

	Cassie frowned. "True," she said, regarding the ghosts. She hadn't thought of it that way, but she also hadn't been in Goodland that long so she still didn't truly see the danger of it. "We are the only brave ones, Billy!" She skipped ahead once he was inside. "This is so awesome. I can just feel the history. Look! The mirrors! And the floating skeletons!" He couldn't deny, she was cute. Even cuter when she was excited. "Fun house mirrors are so creepy." That didn't stop him from stopping in front of one to make his torso look extra long. "Are there usually skeletons in a haunted house?" Foster kids didn't exactly get taken to a lot of carnivals and state fairs. "I wonder if they have that stupid spinning wheel you have to go through to get out." But since the place was abandoned, it probably wouldn't work anymore even if they did.

	Billy realized too late that he maybe should have actually listened to Nico's warning. That sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach just got worse when he felt something brush his arm. Well, they had been warned the place was weird. He just hadn't thought that meant it was deadly.

"Something does!" he agreed, jumping out of the way. "Maybe if we ask nicely, it'll leave us alone?" In the history of everything scary ever, had that actually worked? Probably not. "Hey, Mr. Ghost Thing, we're sorry, we're leaving, it's okay!" Instinctively he reached out and grabbed Cassie's arm, ready to run them both out.
