Who: Kate Bishop and Belle
When: Late Saturday Afternoon
Where: The Haunted Amusement Park
What: What happens when two curious ladies decide to take a walk?
Warnings: TBD

"Are you sure Draco won't, like, turn me into a puddle of slime or something?"

It wasn't likely but Kate wasn't about to take any chances. Not that she would remain slime for long. Kate would have understood, though. She was taking Belle out into this colorless world of who knew what.

Seeing the world in grays, black, and white was unnerving. "You know, there are people who see the world like this every day," she commented to her friend and roommate. The gates to the park were quite large. Enough so that Kate had to tilt her head back to get a good look at them. Her grip on her bow tightened and she exhaled slowly.

The last time she had stepped foot inside an amusement park, she had lost track of her team, had run into Noh-Varr, and then had been rescued by her late mother. Her mother who was now a vampire. A vampire who was also slightly associated with a cult Kate and her team had attempted to infiltrate.

Clicking her tongue, Kate had to chuckle. She couldn't even write this sort of stuff.

"Last chance to go head back inside and watch Hallmark movies."

Belle was often described as headstrong. Possibly too much for her own good. She'd braided her hair back and put on pants. She decided if she needed to run it would be best done on pants.

"I promise. He might threaten but you'll be fine. You'll take care of me." She shook her head, laughing, then she looked up at her friend. "I've had enough hallmark movies, Kate. I stayed instead in Narnia, I need to be better prepared to defend myself."

She needed the experience and she refused to hide in the shadows. "This is so strange. I did not know some people see like this. That's fascinating!"

"Not sure about fascinating," Kate muttered under her breath. For Belle, it would be as most things were. It was kind of precious, reminding Kate of Cassie at times. She tended to collect the naive but headstrong types it seemed. Kate was fine with that. It kept her grounded and prevented her from drifting into dark places.

No one needed that nor did they want that. Especially Kate.

"That's a shame. Narnia that is." Belle would have been perfect for that place. It probably had its own dangers, but none that Kate had seen. The lack of Snow Queen had also been helpful. Besides, who wouldn't enjoy talking animals?

Hooking her arm around Belle's, Kate gave her a confident grin. "You're right. I'll take care of you, so just try and stick close, okay?" Of course, the princess was going to decide to prepare herself in such a place. Kate would have done the same. She couldn't blame Belle for being curious.

"If you see anything weird, let me know. Preferably before anything starts chomping on our faces."

Belle smiled a bit at Kate, she loved the woman dearly and even though she knew she'd give her a hard time, she knew that she was as safe as she could be. "I have had enough of talking animals for awhile." she said about Narnia.

She gave Kate a side hug, "We've got this." she was a wild child, and she was not nearly as defenseless as she looked. She was stronger than she appeared and she was not afraid of much. Belle was curious, and she wanted to knowm ore about what was going on.

"I will, I mean, I'd like to avoid the face-chomping over all, of course." she grinned.

"You definitely want to avoid it. It's not fun. Not that I've actually ever had my face chomped, but I've seen it. On the bad guys, so they definitely deserved it."

Kate prattled on as they walked, her arm tightening instinctively if there was even the slightest sound. Hearing their footsteps crunching along the ground was unnerving, too. It meant Kate was stopping often to take in the environment.

"You have to wonder how the Entity decides on these things. Does it or they really listen to us? Does it throw darts at a board? Pick something from a hat?"

Another pause at what Kate swore was shuffled footsteps to their left. No. Just leaves rustling. It was hard to tell if they were leaves or something else with the lack of color. "Sure, they send us to nice places and stuff, but then this happens."

Kate paused and glanced over to Belle. "You can run pretty fast, right?" Information she probably should have gathered before stepping foot inside.

Belle smirked a bit, "I dont think it would be fun. I nearly got eaten by wolves once, that was enough for me." she laughed softly and shook her head, pushing her hair out of her eyes. She twtiched randomly as things made her jump out of surprise. She was grateful for Kate.

"I think it throws darts. It would be the most random way to do it." she shuddered a bit. "I am not a big fan of half the places it sends us to. Like, why? What's the point? Social experimentation to scare us? See how we react?" she huffed in annoyance.

"I absolutely can run like hell." she said confidently as she looked around, eyes narrowed. "Kate what was that?" she whispered.

"All of which are terrible reasons. They really need to find another way to get their rocks off." Kate felt Belle's huff on multiple levels. She could understand that level of annoyance and frustration.

Maybe a heavily worded letter wouldn't be such a bad idea. Then again, what if it was misconstrued? Kate did not want to be the reason behind some other form of hell for everyone else in the tower.

Kate was still, her free hand gripping her bow tightly. The enchanted quiver shifted just so on her back as her shoulders tensed. "Probably the reason why I was asking about running," she replied, trying to keep an even tone. Kate did her best to always keep a brave face even in the face of the direst situations.

She didn't want to show fear but more importantly, Kate didn't want to show weakness. She would not be overcome again.

The rustling grew intense and mixed with an unnerving squelching sound. Something inhuman but entirely organic. It was enough to make Kate's stomach turn. It was alarming that a simple sound could have such an effect.

"Belle, do you hear...screaming?" It was faint. Very faint. Enough that Kate wasn't sure if it was real or not. Was she hearing things? Was her mind playing tricks on her already? God, she hoped not. She was not in the mood for that.
