It had been the scariest thing in the world to see the Hulk be mean to his daddy, but Robbie was glad that it had all worked out. The Hulk just needed to be talked to, and sometimes it was like that. Everyone deserved a friend when they were upset. Still, he was more than glad to see the thing get back into his spaceship, he even waved him good bye for a long time as mommy and daddy went to start the car.

The smoke from the ship launch most have been thicker than he realized, because when he turned around everything seemed gray. And… different? “Mommy?” Robbie called out, his eyes adjusting to a menacing looking carnival. They did not have this back home. “Daddy?”

There was a voice in Robbie’s head that told him to run, and suddenly he was. He was sprinting through crowds of people and ghosts and wreckage as fast as his little legs could carry him. .And he wasn’t crying cause he was scared neither-- those tears were just from the wind and how fast he was running (or so he’d say if he were asked).

Robbie had stopped for a short breath when he saw the nice looking apartment building. It seemed like such a strange spot to build them, but if nothing else they would have a phone and a police officer who would help him get home.

Robbie burst through the door dramatically, trying to wipe away his tears. “HELLO I AM LOST AND I NEED TO FIND MY MOMMY OR DADDY OR A POLICE OFFICER OR CALL NINE ONE ONE. I AM A LOST CHILD HELP ME!”

Tony was doing regular checks of the area. The amusement park seemed to piece together different aspects of different parks, one creepier than the next, so he wanted to be prepared. However, before he could slip out that day a crying child burst into the apartment building. For a second, Tony wondered if the young boy was a byproduct of the park, but upon closer inspection he seemed to just be a transplant - a very young and confused transplant. Pepper would kill him if he brought home another kid, right? Still, he needed to help somehow.

"Hey, buddy!" He called out as gently as he could. "I'm Tony Stark. You must be new here. It is a place called Goodland."

Robbie let out a few quick, stuttering breaths to try and stop his tears. It wasn't working so great, and he rubbed his eyes trying to push them away. At least the inside of the building seemed a lot nicer and safe than the area outside. It was still grey though, and that didn't make sense.

"My--My name is Robbie and my parents are missing. Daddy went to start the car and when I turned around there was no car and my mommy and daddy wouldn't just leave me." Robbie told the man in front of him. "And my eyes are broken cause everything is grey."

"Goodland is a bad name because everything is awful." Robbie pouted.

Tony grinned at the little boy. "It is not always gray and awful," he replied. "It turns into different places sometimes. Normally it looks like New York. Have you ever heard of New York?" He knelt down so he was in front of Robbie. "Your parents wouldn't leave you on purpose," he agreed, "But the magic here sometimes pulls people from different places. Your parents might be here though. What are their names?"

	"I live in New York." Robbie said, wiping his nose on his sleeve. "My daddy is Bruce Banner and My mommy is Betty Banner and they are very important scientists." "My daddy works at the College." 	Oh shit. Shit. Shit. Bruce and Betty had a kid somewhere? Tony took a second to digest that information before saying, "Your parents are here. I know them very well in fact. Robbie frowned, his parents where here well that was convenient. Still, Robbie looked at the cell phone. "I don't. I'm seven. Mommy says I'm not responsible enough for one yet."

Robbie frowned, "This isn't going to be like that play in school where someone says they are there to pick you up and they know your parents and then they kidnap you is it? Cause I don't want to be kidnapped. That wouldn't be cool."

Of course Tony would find his kid. Which, after meeting Lyra, wasn't quite the shock it had been before but still. And his kid with Betty? Aka, what he'd hoped for for so long?

Yeah, that was a lot to take in.

Bruce met up with his girlfriend on the way down to the apartment lobby. He was anxious, definitely, but honestly? It would be a lie to say he wasn't excited. Even if it was weird to have to tell yet another child that though he loved them already, he didn't really know them.

	Betty slid her hand into Bruce's hand as they entered the lobby. Her heart was beating so fast! How did they have a baby together? "Mom!" Robbie said happily upon seeing her parents. He ran to them, doing his best to hug the both of them at the same time. It had only been about 45 minutes since he'd last seen them, but he was frightened. He squeezed them.

"I thought you guys left me! We were watching the hulk go away on the rocketship and then I turned around and you were gone. You aren't supposed to do that."

And then Robbie looked expectantly at his father, "And my eyes only see in gray now so I think you're going to have to take me to the doctor."

They'd watched...what, now? Bruce's brain was firing on all cylinders, trying to wrap his head around the world the little boy was from. He recognized him, so Bruce knew at least some version of him was, in fact, his dad. But what he'd just said implied that he wasn't the Hulk and...how?

His eyes met Betty's, glad he got this chance to see her be called "Mom". She and Lyra weren't quite there yet, and that was okay. But that made this extra special.

Kneeling down beside his apparent son, he offered what he hoped was a reassuring smile. "Hi, buddy. I'm sorry we got lost. Your mom and I do have a lot to tell you though and some of it is pretty scary. Do you think you can be brave for me?" God, he didn't even know the boy's name.

	Betty loved hearing the "mom" aimed in her direction and couldn't help relishing the hug the boy provided. However, it was over all too soon and he was asking questions. She stood next to where Bruce knelt and kept one hand on her boyfriend's shoulder and one hand on her son's. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Robbie furrowed his eyebrows at his father, but he nodded regardless. "Uh. Duh. I'm like the bravest first grader in all of New York. I scared the Hulk away." He couldn't help but look at his father like he was the crazy one for a moment, only looking away to wave goodbye to Tony. "Bye Mr. Stark, thanks for not kidnapping me." Bruce couldn't help chuckle at that. No matter the universe he'd come through from, he was definitely half Betty's. All of her sass, there.

"I bet you are. So we're not at home. We're in what everyone calls a pocket dimension - kind of outside of space and time. Like a TV show. And people can come here from all over the universe and different times and places. And sometimes... Well, sometimes people come from other worlds as the same people who are here. Friends who know each other but not in the same way."

He knew he wasn't making sense but it wasn't exactly easy to name an example when he didn't know what all the boy knew. "Say two characters on your favorite tv show are best friends. But they remake the tv show a few years later and have them not know each other. Or this time they're brothers. Does that make sense?"

Betty loved watching Bruce with Lyra and Pym. Fatherhood looked good on him. However, she never expected to see him with a child the two of them made, albeit from a different world. "Honey," she said to Robbie, "there is nothing wrong with your eyes. This place is just in black and white for now. It will be color again in a few days." She assumed it would follow the pattern of all the other changes. "And Dad's right. This is a different world. We didn't mean to leave you behind. We are just from a different world from you."

Bruce offered what he hoped was a reassuring smile. He was excited to meet the boy and add him to their family. He just also knew this was going to be confusing and weird for a while. "Well, you're the only son we've got. At least, kind of. Our family here is a little bit weird and it's definitely not what you had back home. But I can promise you, your mom and I love you a lot and we're going to figure this out as a family, ok?"

"Sort of. See..." There really wasn't an easy way to tell your child you had no idea who they were. They should make a slide show for this. "Remember the whole 'same people, different worlds' thing? Lyra is my daughter with another person from another world. Pym isn't technically ours, his parents haven't come through this Entity yet so he lives with me and we love him a lot."

Bruce leaned back on his heels, giving the little boy a full once over. He could see it. It was strange, actually seeing himself in another person. With Lyra it was obviously different for obvious reasons. But Robbie? "We've got a really big family here, kiddo. Lots of people from lots of places. And they're all going to love you a lot."
