Log: Lissa & Open
Who: Lissa Dragomir & Open
What: Seeing double and/or wrong auras
When: Saturday morning
Where: The Park
Warnings: tbd
Even though it was Saturday and not a day she had to get up for classes or to finish up an assignment, Lissa was still in the habit of getting up and going in the mornings. For as much as she did miss her nocturnal schedule, she'd gotten adjusted to a daylight schedule easier than she might have thought, but then again this wasn't the first time she'd had to live outside the ideal Moroi hours. Early mornings were one of the more comfortable times during daylight. Even though the sun was shining, it was low enough in the sky not to be too much of a bother, plus the temperature was much more pleasant than the afternoons that sometimes became sticky as the sun went down.
Sometimes Lissa was up early enough to cook a small breakfast for herself, but this time she felt more like taking a walk down to a café not far from the Villas. Morning sun or not, she still brought along her sunglasses and a hat just in case it was needed and a book to read. With her roommates not awake yet, she slipped out of the apartment quietly and made her way down the street. Once at the café, she managed to find an outside table but one that was comfortably in the shade for a few more hours. When the waiter took her order, at first she thought something looked strange from behind her sunglasses, but she didn't pay it any mind until after he was gone and the shades were sat aside.
Everything seemed... off. In a way too bright but blurred. There weren't that many people out just yet, but as she glanced around, she realized that somehow she was seeing people's auras except that she wasn't trying to see people's auras. Her mind raced, trying to understand what was happening. Even if she had been using her ability to see someone's aura, she had never been this skilled at seeing so many all at once. Or seeing them so brightly. Adrian was better at them than she was, and she didn't even think he could see them like this.
Closing her eyes, Lissa took several deep breaths and tried not to panic. The last thing she wanted to do was to alert Rose through their bond that something was going on with her and cause her to worry. It was just a fluke, and the auras would be gone as soon as she reopened her eyes. Except that they weren't. The waiter came back to bring her the cup of tea she'd ordered, and there it was again. But wrong. His aura was all wrong, so she decided to tune into him the way she normally would to see the aura and as soon as she did, the colors brightened even more, swirling together in a way that made her feel almost dizzy.
"I'm so sorry," she said to the waiter. "I have to go." She laid down several bills, more than enough to cover what she'd ordered, and left the café.
Why was her spirit acting up all of a sudden? But the thing was, she didn't even feel like she was overusing or even much at all. Sunglasses back on, she didn't go back towards the Villa but instead ended up at the park. She was determined to figure this out on her own, so found a shady spot under a tree that had a few people nearby but wasn't yet crowded.
"There's nothing to worry about," she mumbled under her breath. "It's just a weird fluke, and it'll be gone." One more look from out of the sunglasses and she knew this wasn't just something random that happened at the café. This was happening to her all over Goodland.
