Log: Angel & Kate
Who: Angel and Kate Pryde
What: Kate phases through the wrong wall
When: Saturday morningish
Where: Angel's room
Warnings: Awkwardness

The last few days since his talk with Bonnie had been long, and for once, it had nothing to do with sudden trips around the world or weird or dangerous obstacles that Goodland liked to throw at them on a regular basis. While it was good news that they had started to develop a plan or an idea that changing the spell was even possible, the closer he got to making any sort of decision the more and more nervous Angel became. For a vampire, the soul was still a curse in a many ways, so his guilt and brooding, as too many people called it, wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Living with this curse had been something he'd dealt with for over a century, and making the move to take the risk felt, well, risky. The problem was that he wasn't sure if it was more risky to allow what he saw in the mirrors become a reality.

Angel knew that his next move was to talk to Buffy. At first, he'd wanted to come to a decision on his own, so she wouldn't be getting her hopes up for something that may or may not be possible, but no matter when he told her, that was going to happen unless he waited until after the fact. He'd be lying if he said the thought hadn't crossed his mind, but that wasn't fair to her. The decision involved her, so that meant broaching the subject before he decided a definite yes or no. The secure location of Emma's cave did make him feel better about the actual process itself, but knowing that Angelus would be coming out for a visit, even if only a little while under the best circumstances, would always make him pause.

Since when did the best circumstances ever happen for any of them?

Sleep didn't come easy, but he'd managed a couple hours. A warmed mug of fresh blood from the butcher shop later, and Angel was standing under the warm water from his shower. The steady stream beat down on his chest until his skin had turned a pale pink. The shower was turned off, and Angel opened the curtain and stepped out onto the bathroom mat. He dried and used the towel to dry out some of the excess water from his hair then wrapped the towel around his waist.

Back in the bedroom and standing in front of his closet, Angel dropped the towel and sorted through the various pairs of dark slacks to find something to wear.

To be fair, ever since that last time with Remy and Emma, she had begun to pay closer attention to what walls she wandered through. It wasn't exactly a difficult feat, other than when it came to the White Queen, but that was merely because boundaries weren't exactly their forte. No. Her efforts there were merely for Remy's sake. With everyone else, she tended to be considerate, outside of phasing in her sleep. She'd just been distracted today is all.

Already trying to figure out how to pin this on Pete, Kate watched the scene play out in front of her like a fucking scene in a comedic movie. She tried, really tried, to contain her laughter, but as soon as he slipped and fell onto his ass? All bets were off. Covering her mouth with her hand, she nearly barreled over in hysterics.

It took the entire sequence of him fumbling around for his dignity for her to pull herself together. Wiping at her eyes, she attempted to even the breaths burning her lungs from the fit of laughter. "Fucking hell. Whew. Thanks, I needed that."

"As nice as your pale ass is," she began - making the entire situation worse by getting comfortable with a lean against the wall. "Good for Buffy, by the way. I wasn't exactly looking for a show. Guess I wasn't paying attention. My bad?"

"And all of your clothes are absolutely the same."

He'd been expecting the laughter. Hell, if he'd been a third party in all of this, Angel probably would have found it funny too. Except he wasn't a third party. He was the guy who had fallen on his naked ass after nearly coming out of his skin when his roommate's girlfriend caught him by surprise by walking through his bedroom wall.

The 'good for Buffy' line earned her one of his trademarked looks of stoicism, and he let out a sigh of exasperation. Nevermind that Buffy hadn't seen... that in a while or that he was trying to figure out what the hell to do about the lack of her seeing...that, but — no, he wasn't going there right now. Nope.

"Not paying attention," he repeated with a scoff. "Well, I, uh.. appreciate if you paid attention. From now on." He wasn't upset, mostly awkward and embarrassed, even if he was probably the last vampire on earth that should be caring about modesty. Still, without thinking, Angel doublechecked the towel around his waist, making sure everything was as secure as it could be. There wouldn't be anymore mishaps or slips if he could help it.

His eyes went to the clothes in his closet again. They may have all been more or less similar in color, but they weren't the same. "That one's a button-down," he pointed out. "And this isn't one." He picked out a dark, knit shirt and tossed it over to the bed. And then backed up to the dresser and quickly, and very carefully, slipped on a pair of boxers on underneath the towel.
