YA DWEEB
WHO: Jubilee & Remy
WHAT: Explaining things, and getting punched
WHEN: after this exchange
WHERE: Diner in Goodland
WARNINGS: Jubilee's 90's references; mild violence (she's 14)
πŸ”—
There hadn't really been much consideration put to someone coming in, from any world, and not understanding the Multiverse theory. Like they just took for granted that everyone would get it straight away.

And from the sounds of things, Jubilee had already been through the trials as it were. Mentions of a suppression collar were all it took to understand that even if it wasn't all Sentinels and Vampire curses for this version, it was still fairly shitty for her. Especially if she was coming in off one of his idiotic schemes.

Remy wouldn't believe that there was any world where he'd leave Storm behind, or put her in a position he couldn't get her out of. But it didn't seem like Jubilee knew that, or at least that some version of him hadn't been as forth coming.

Explaining things over food was just about the most basic thing they could do. And maybe he'd get a slap or little paff for whatever he did to her, his eyebrows would grow back. It was more important Jubilee felt safe.

Waiting by the lobby, glaring at some of the Ostriches through his shades, Remy charged the end of his cigarette before flicking it away to make a tiny explosion in the air.

β€œYou had better.” Jubilee insisted, and she pulled back away from him. She looked him up and down again, as if making sure that this was the right person. He sounded like her Gambit, acted like him. She shifted her weight between her feet. β€œSo… you’re a different Gambit?” She asked him.

β€œI’m starvin!” She told him, and motioned for him to lead the way. β€œI haven’t eaten real food since the flight to Genosha!”

"'fraid so, lil' one, but a Gambit that will not be betraying you anytime soon." Although he was still certain there was a reason he'd do whatever he'd done, since no version of him could possibly leave 'Ro, he wasn't about to question Jubilee either.

"I'm thinkin' we might need to find a buffet in that case, non? Don't want you passin' out before you get to go shopping." She was so much younger than the Jubilee he'd left behind in their world -in a way, so much less worn out by the crap they all went through, less jaded, still a mutant. It was still exceptionally simple to slip right back to big brother role with a blink.

"My sugar mama gave me her black Amex."
