Who: Jubilation Lee and Wanda
What: Figuring out where she is
Where: Around the Apartment Building
When: Tuesday Afternoon

Jubilee was almost certain that she would bake alive in the isolation box, the only thing that kept Jubilee from knocking out entirely was the fact that she wanted to be able to hear Storm if she called for her. But closing her eyes, when she had so little energy to spare, that couldn’t hurt, could it?

At first, Jubilee thought she had imagined the smells of a busy city street, that she had finally gone fully delusional. But the breeze kissed her face and blew through her sweat dampened hair. It was real enough for her to flutter her eyes open.

Her back was not against the solitary wall anymore, but a newspaper box. Goodland? She clearly wasn’t in Genosha anymore, but how? Her fingers reached up gently and touched the power suppressing collar that still clung to her neck. What was going on? The date… it made her pause… 2021? No way.

“This is totally bogus.” She whispered to herself, parched from the lack of hydration. She picked up her yellow jacket, she had been sitting on it, and slung it over her shoulder. A letter seemingly fell out of the pocket, and she read it carefully.

Go to an apartment? You’ll be taken care of? As if! She rolled her eyes, if this wasn’t a trap, then her name was Susie. Still, what else did she have to go on? She was alone. Though, bitterly, she thought it was at least better than having a teammate who you trusted with your entire being only to have him absolutely turn you in. Ugh! Gambit was so dumb!

Dirty, and tired, and overly thirsty, Jubilee dragged herself down the winding blocks to the apartment building, admittedly, it was nice to feel the air conditioning once she stepped in the building, and took a long breath. Her hair was sticking up and messy, and without her jacket on, her flashing slave collar was on display for anyone to see. She had to figure out how to get rid of it, but she wasn’t brave enough to pick the lock, knowing that she could explode.

She hung off to the side of the reception area, doing her best to look as inconspicuous as possible, trying to see who or what was coming in and out of the building, leaning heavily against a wall as she did so.

"It's nice to meet you, Jubilee," she replied gently, then nodded at the question. Wanda didn't like looking into others' minds now, but she just sort of brushed the surface of Jubilee's for a moment. It was obvious in looking at the teenager that she wouldn't be a threat, and it was likely she knew them, so she gave the names. "Ororo, Emma, Rogue, Remy, St. John, Kate, and a few others," Wanda added.

As she described the collar, Wanda tilted her head as rage filled her. A red glow began to appear in her eyes, and before Jubilee could become afraid of her, she lifted her hand and shot out her power. A streak of red light jumped between them and surrounded the explosive part of the collar to contain any blast, while another tendril wrapped around the collar itself and shattered it. The pieces then floated across the air into her hand, and she eyed them with distaste.

"There," Wanda stated as the glow in her eyes faded. "That is taken care of now. Did you receive a note that tells you where your apartment is?" Looking back at the teenager, she gave her a warm smile. "You can use the network to contact the others, but it's possible you've been given an apartment to share with any one of them. The elevators will take you up to whatever floor you wish to go to.

Jubilee couldn’t help the light in her eyes as Wanda began to list off people. Storm and Rogue! Thank god they were there, because she wasn’t sure that she could take much more of this trip. She felt more than a little relieved to know that they were around somewhere.

Honestly, she should have been concerned about the fact that Wanda’s eyes began to glow, but she had seen the weird things that people like her could do, and the woman hadn’t seemed to be all that bad. She couldn’t help but flinch at the sound of the collar being smashed, and the glimmer of spark that lit instinctually at her fingertips, harmlessly twinkling. She tilted her head, “Have you... Are you a mutant too?” She asked her gently.

Her hand rubbed where the collar was. “Uh… something ‘bout a kids floor? Honestly, I was buggin’.”

"Not exactly, no," Wanda replied. She'd caught the glimpse of Jubilee's powers manifesting, but didn't comment on it as she used her own to form what remained of the collar into a ball of useless metal. "But I have...powers." She wasn't sure if she should start calling it magic or not - honestly Wanda needed to learn a long more about all this first.

"That's the sixth floor. Most minors who do not have guardians are given room to stay there." Wanda gestured to the elevator. "Do you want me to ride up with you?"

That didn’t really answer her question, but Jubilee knew what it was like… to not fully understand your powers, or what you were. “Are there a lot of people? You know… the ones with powers?” She tied her jacket around her waist.

“There a shower up there? I don’t even care if it’s a trap if I can get a shower.” She smirked a little bit, but there was still a skepticism about her, her eyes not leaving Wanda, gesturing for her to lead the way.

"Yes, there are. Most of them aren't mutants - some have magic or other special abilities, but we all come from different worlds and live here in the villa together." At the gesture, Wanda led the way over to the elevator and pressed the button. As it opened, she stepped in and hit the number six, then held the door for the teenager.

"Yes, and the water pressure is very good," Wanda reassured her with a smile.

“Where I’m from…” Jubilee started with a slight pout, “anyone who has powers… we’re just considered bad. That’s why I went to the manor, to learn about how to control my powers, and so that the Sentinels would stop watching my foster parent’s house. They’re good people, they didn’t need to be burdened by me like that.”

“Oh thanks. I feel absolutely grody. I… well, other than being a slave, I uh… tried to start a rebellion, so they locked me in… basically a locker and called it the solitary box.”
