Rose Hathaway & Lissa Dragomir
23 February | BFFs reunited
Rose finds Lissa after this
RATING: TBD | Warnings: Rose swears
IN PROGRESS THREAD

Rose had been in Goodland for a damn long time now. It was longer if you counted the fact that she'd left for a few months and come back feeling like a lot less time than that had passed. For Rose, it had been mere days in between, but it has also been probably about eight months since the Entity had first brought her back to Goodland and this marked the first time she'd seen anyone from home. Not just anyone, but Lissa. Damn, she might have to stop wanting to punch the Entity in the face for at least a week now if it had brought her the one person she most desperately wanted to see.

Asking Lissa had mostly just been polite, because the bond made it pretty easy to find her best friend. Slipping into Lissa's head had gotten pretty easy by now and she knew it was probably cheating, but, hey, sometimes you had to do it. At least, according to her own Rose-Logic.

Making her way expertly through the streets of Goodland, Rose couldn't hide the growing grin that spread across her face as she saw Lissa, finally. Her steps quickened to almost a run and once she was in arms reach, she couldn't help throwing her arms around the fair Moroi, probably hugging her a little too tightly. After so many long months away from the most important person in her life, she just couldn't help herself.

Going from celebrating their school graduation to showing up suddenly in the middle of New York City was some kind of geographical whiplash. Not only that, but the sun had just started to come up on the Montana horizon. Now here she was on the street in the middle of the day with the sun shining down on her and minimal shade. Thankfully, she'd somehow appeared a block away from St. Patrick's Cathedral, so she was able to stand under one of the large archway entrances for relief from the sun. She could have stood the direct sun for a while, but she didn't want to risk anything considering how little she knew about this place. She considered going inside the church, but she'd rather be able to see Rose coming once she was close. And it was probably best that their reunion didn't happen inside a quiet church.

This was another one of those times that Lissa was jealous of the one-way bond between Rose and herself. She would have felt so much better if she could know exactly how close she was or even feel how she really felt about this place. She knew she would feel a hundred times better as soon as she was able to see Rose for herself, but she still had trouble processing how this was actually real.

A few minutes passed, and she awkwardly smiled at a couple that walked past her to enter the church. Thankfully, it was only another minute or so that she saw the familiar brunette break into a run as soon as they saw one another. Lissa couldn't help but smile, both in relief and happiness to see her, nearly tumbling back from the force of the hug as soon as Rose was on her.

"Hello to you too," Lissa said, laughing, not at all minding the tightness of the hug. She squeezed her friend tightly and might have hung on longer than she normally would. It reminded her a little of their other reunion that had happened only a couple months ago.

"I know you already explained everything, but Rose... it's still hard to believe this is real."

Rose might have slightly exaggerated how close she was, but she was a fast runner and it hadn't taken her long at all to make her was to Lissa once she figured out exactly where she was. Goodland wasn't dangerous in the same way that their home was, but for Rose it had been so long, between the time she'd spent in Russia and the time she'd been in Goodland and for her, well, they hadn't exactly left things on the best of terms. For Rose, their reunion there hadn't actually happened yet.

The comment Lissa made was expected and Rose nodded her understanding. "Trust me, I know. It's really weird, even for us and I had trouble believing it, myself." She was pretty sure even her head couldn't maintain this kind of a delusion for months and she knew she couldn't have come up with some of the twisted shit this place tended to throw at them. Honestly, weird was kind of an understatement.

"I mean, I haven't even gotten to the part where I'm actually really good friends with Spiderman and I kind of worked for Iron Man for awhile," she quipped, even though both things were true. Not that she would have know who those people actually were if it wasn't for Eddie and his nerd obsessions. She couldn't help thinking he'd really get a kick out of this place.

"I know this is going to make everything sound even weirder, but I have to ask... Liss, what's the last thing you remember from home?" Knowing Goodland, she really couldn't count on them being from the same time.

Incredibly weird with a side of what the hell?? was more like it, but if there was anyone Lissa was going to trust about what this place was, it was Rose. Even if it made her head spin. She knew it would be better if she didn't think too hard on how this was possible or what it mean for her being or not being at home where she belonged, but that was easier said than done.

"Wait, you're... what?" Lissa gave Rose an incredulous look after her talk of superheroes. Spider-man and Iron Man? Really? All she could do was just shake her head and laugh. "Of course you are," she said, letting out a sigh. "This is only going to get weirder before it levels out to any semblance of normalcy, isn't it?"

She didn't even need to hear Rose's answer because the answer was obviously yes. A resounding, absolute, wacky yes.

The conversation turned a bit, and she frowned. "At home? Um, well, we'd just graduated? You received your promise mark, we had the whole celebration, party thing, and we'd been living at Court for a little while." She paused and studied Rose a moment. "Why do you ask?"
