ALICIA & OPEN - Start of the party!

Thank Merlin Roger showed up when he did, and she'd roped Peter into helping. Alicia was pretty sure she took in a little bit more than she should have, but that wasn't anything new for her.

She'd spent hours the day before making the dough, and now that it was just about 4 pm she wouldn't admit to it, but she was oddly nervous that no one was going to show up.

ALICIA & JUGHEAD

Jughead was among the first to arrive. Honestly, mention food and he'd come running. He was highly motivated by the demands of his stomach and while burgers were his passion, he could appreciate a good pizza just as much. And home made pizza was top of the list.

He had a cooler full of drinks, mostly soda, some flavored waters, nothing alcoholic. Even if he'd been old enough to buy booze, he likely wouldn't have. He didn't care if people drank, but he'd grown up with an alcoholic father, so drinking wasn't something that really interested him.

He grinned at Alicia once he was inside. "It's really awesome of you, to do this," he said to her.

"Hey!" Alicia greeted. "The bloke that offered to help with drinks!" She waved an arm to him and showed him where she'd set up a space to put drinks.

"It's the least I can do, besides if we are all going to be stuck here we might as well get to know each other and food is always a good ice breaker. When in doubt, feed people." Alicia smirked, that was the Italian side of her family coming through.

"Thanks bring getting all of this, hope it wasn't too hard to get others to pitch in as well."

"You can call me Jughead," he told her. He didn't use his actual name, and barely recognised it when he heard it spoken or saw it written. For all intents and purposes, his name was Jughead.

"Feeding people is always a good option," Jughead had to agree with that. "And pizza is generally a crowd pleaser." He hadn't expected other offerings, but she'd really gone all out.

"Nah, no big," he told her with a wave of his hand in the general direction of the cooler he'd brought. "Good food needs plenty of drinks to go with it." He would have brought milkshakes from Pops if he could. Even if he could have gone to Pops, milkshakes weren't practical to bring to a perty. but it was still a nice thought. At least in his mind.

Alicia was pretty sure she'd never heard the name but there were loads of odd names in the wizarding world so it didn't phase her. "It's a pleasure to meet you Jughead!"

"Pizza's easy, and loads of different options, there is usually something for everyone, I have a few glutenfree doughs as well, figure best to be safe, I saw an article about it being a big thing these days." Alicia didn't really know, it wasn't something that she knew that much about personally.

"Course it does!" She agreed with a firm nod.

He appreciated when people didn't make a big deal out of his name. He knew it was unusual, but it was his. He liked it because it was unique. He'd never met anyone else called Jughead, and didn't think it likely he ever would.

"I never understood the whole glutenfree movement," he admitted. But then, he liked breads and such far too much. He would probably eat gluten even if it made him sick. Thankfully, it didn't.

"I think I'll try a slice of every kind, glutenfree or not." He really wasn't picky. There was very little food stuff he wouldn't eat.

Her nervous had calmed down, and she was taking a break after a few hours of slinging pizzas out of the oven, she grabbed a slice of a soppressata and jalapeno and refilled her wine glass with a crisp rose before leaning against a free space of wall as she looked over the crowd watching people.

It was the first time since Wanda had been here that she felt a little more at ease. The party was a nice distraction from the situation that they had all been put in, which of course she figured was the purpose of the party.

When she found Alicia leaning against the wall, she smiled. "This was a nice thing you did for everyone, and the pizza is amazing."

Smiling as she finished chewing a bite of the pizza in her hand she nodded.

"It was the least I could do, seems it's breaking some ice," she looked around seeing people talking in different corners. "And thank you, it's good to do something useful, I'm not one for sitting around much."

"It is a good way to break the ice." Wanda agreed. "I think all of us are still a bit on edge in one way or another. It's a good chance to relax and get to know everyone. Who knows how long we'll be here, it'd get boring just sticking to ourselves." It was amusing for Wanda to say that out loud when a small part of her had been avoiding others. She had met everyone from her world but she still remained a little unsocial. Knowing that she wouldn't be able to keep up with that much longer was the reason she wanted to come to the party in the first place.

"It's better that a lot of pizza joints I've visited. Where did you learn how to make them so well? Were you a chef back home?"

"Not every day you get kidnapped to an island and put up in an apartment building," Alicia agreed. "It's a bit hard not to be on edge or question it." She had loads of questions herself but some she knew weren't going to be that easy to answer. "Exactly, loads of interesting people to meet, and there is no telling how long we'll be here."

Shaking her head she laughed softly. "Nope, I'm a athlete at home, my Mum's family is Italian and I spent a lot of time in kitchens growing up and it is just sort of in my blood. My little sister is a baker, I just cook for fun."

Alicia was feeling good about the choice to host a pizza party, and she wasn't really sure why she'd decided to do it. Well, actually she did, she liked doing things, and it felt like an excellent way to get to know people and break down some of the awkward feelings of being kidnapped to not New York.

She was a little lost in thought as she was ripping up some mozzarella to put on the next pizza when she heard her name and looked up.

Things were finally starting to wind down, people were heading back to their own places, and Alicia had finally made her last pizza. Rubbing her arm over her forehead, she was sure by now she was utterly covered in flour. She turned around looking around the kitchen and smirked, it was a bit of a mess and started just to organize things so when she did some cleaning spells later it'd be a lot easier.

ALICIA & BUCKY
[info]assignment
2019-06-23 11:03 pm UTC (link)
As people started to leave, Bucky hung back for a while. Not because he was feeling overly sociable, but other than a couple small conversations here and there, he hadn't really been able to speak at length with the host of the party. Throughout the night, he'd learned her name as Alicia, and he had to admit that the pizza she'd made was very good. Not exactly the same as the pizzas he remembered eating when he was a kid at some of the local diners and shops in Brooklyn, but still very good.

"You've been keeping yourself busy tonight," he said, approaching her after she put the final pizza into the oven. Bucky gave her a small smile and leaned a bit against the counter.

"I hope you were able to enjoy yourself some too."

There were a few people she'd noticed during the party, the bloke who helped inspire the idea was one of them. She felt like she'd only chatted a bit here and there, getting to know Jughead (she still thought it was an odd name) and Wanda were a few of her longer conversations.

"Pizza nights are always busy," she leaned forward her voice just above a whisper. "But I like keeping busy," Alicia said almost as if it were a secret.

"So, what did you think of the pizza? After all, you are a bit responsible for all this,"

"You do?" He asked curiously. Bucky was the same, but staying busy didn't usually end up with him in the kitchen. He wasn't that bad of a cook, or he hadn't been seventy-plus years ago, but he'd never cooked for a large group of people either.

"It was very good," he said a small shrug and hint of humor in his eyes. "Better than anything I ever had in Manhattan. Brooklyn... well, it's been a while. I might have to try one more piece from that fresh one once it's ready to know for sure."

Looking around, he noticed that while she seemed to have been doing some clean up along the way, there still was a good bit to do now that most people were gone. "Can I help you clean up? Seeing as I was a bit responsible for all of this."

Nodding, she glanced away to the oven. The pizzas only took a couple of minutes to cook and she'd so far managed only to burn one.

"How long has it been?" She asked smirking. "Because memory can always make something seem better." She teased just a little bit turning away again to spin the pizza. It just needed a little bit longer for the cheese to melt.

Opening her mouth, she was about to wave him off and say she could handle it. It's what she usually did at these sorts of things but instead, she tilted her head. "After this last pizza, yeah, I wouldn't mind a bit of help."

This was not something Sierra had planned to show up to but she determined after some thoughtfulness that it would be prudent to at least show to not keep herself cut off from the rest of those who had recently arrived here.

She was sitting on the edge of the couch with a bottle of sparkling water dangling from her right hand. Sierra didn't move much as she let her eyes drift around the room.

Hannah & OPEN - Mid-Party
[info]hanabbott
2019-06-21 04:02 pm UTC (link)
When it seemed that everyone had their first couple of slices of pizza, Hannah went ahead and found a spot to start making root beer floats. As anxiety-inducing all this had been in the beginning, she felt herself more relaxed with each passing day. Of course a great deal of that had to do with the fact that she had things to keep her busy and she was extremely thankful there were people from her world here as well. It might have been a different story if she had been the only one.

After her first couple of cups went out, the line had slowed as people were still eating and drinking. Hannah made sure to announce that if anyone wanted any more, they could help themselves. She took a towel to clean off her fingers and with a quick wave of her wand, she cleaned up the spills on the tabletop she was using. Hannah had a cooler right next to her, charmed to keep the ice cream cold enough to keep it from melting but not so much that it'd be completely frozen if she tried to scoop it out.

Hannah & Crowley - Mid-Party
[info]abitgood

It was a party and he supposed he should do the getting to know you thing. He was going to be here for a while. Nothing he could do seemed to work to get him out of here and honestly, he hadn't really wanted it to. This place was alright. And who knew how long they had before heaven and hell came at them again.

He watched the girl wave the wand in her hand. Witch of course, the kind that used wands, which was interesting enough.

"Hannah?" he said, just confirming what he knew. He'd talked to the Healer a lot and he was impressed with all the work she'd been putting into setting up a medical centre.

"Still not sure about root beer. Have you ever used Coke to do it? Actually quite nice."

"Crowley!" Hannah greeted happily. "It's good to see you." While she was smiling she couldn't help but note the glasses that he was wearing indoors. She wondered if that was perhaps a style choice among demons or maybe it was a personal preference. She decided to shrug it off, while they two got along, so far, she didn't think perhaps they were close enough for her to be asking a question like that.

"Oh that?" She laughed. "Don't worry, most people are a bit confused by it where I come from too. My mum met an American witch named Nessa when she was younger and the two became really good friends. She was the one that introduced it and my mother sort of became obsessed with it, especially since you can't get the drink back home." It was a story she had told over and over again, and even Hannah still kept in contact with Nessa from time to time, even after her mother's death. She considered his question. "Haven't done that, but I'll have to give it a try." She smiled. "How's the flower shop coming along?"

"Not confused as such. They're starting to have it in those American food shops in the bigger cities, with Lucky Charms and Twinkies and whatnot. Bit niche. Just never took to the stuff though, Coke in it though, it's perfect."

Luckily, or by demonic miracle or however it might appear, he did indeed have a bottle with him. "Go on, I'll have one with this. Make yourself one and all." he said. He didn't really know how wiches worked in her reality but from her story it sounded like they were far from solitary practitioners which was probably a good thing.

"Flower shop is going quite well actually. My first proper human type job. It's going to be different if nothing else. Need to get used to the old 9 to 5 thing."

Maybe it was the trick of the light, but she thought for a second that Crowley didn't have a bottle with him. In truth she didn't think of it too much as her mind had already gone to making the floats. "Alright then." Grinning she took out her wand and with a few waves and softly spoken spells, making the floats was a breeze. Hannah gave a small laugh. "I really didn't need to use magic but I can't help it." She looked around at all the guests. "There's something freeing about being able to use magic in front of muggles."

Going back to his comment she smiled again as the drinks finished. "I'm glad. What were you doing back home then? If you don't mind me asking that is. Do Demons have jobs?"

Jasmine & OPEN

Jasmine wasn't sure what to expect at this pizza party (someone had called it that?), but she was there! A new place meant new adventures and she reminded herself that she needed to figure out just why she was there. While she had been desperate for adventure back in Agrabah, she had never imagined she would be finding it so far from home. It was disorientating, to say the least.

Instead, she found herself mingling in the crowd hoping no one would expect her to know their names. Back home, she just wandered and people watched when she needed a break from the palace. Here she found herself longing for the safety at home. At least with this party, all eyes weren't on her.

"Hello?" She said to the first person that settled into the space next to her.
