WHO: Kate Bishop & Open
WHERE: The city
WHEN: Sunday Night
WARNINGS: Mentions of minor injuries.
SPOILERS? N/A

It had been twenty-four hours at most. Perhaps just reaching past it. The streets were beginning to look empty save for a few brave souls. The debris was beginning to build and Kate? Kate was smack in the middle of it all.

There was no need for her to be out in the thick of the ravenous creatures, but here she was. There was a new nick on her bow from a stray claw. It had gotten to her before the arrow managed to slow it adding a jagged cut on her cheek.

She did not have the make-up to cover that mess but she never seemed to. Another battle scar to add to the list. Kate had them, counted them when she was bored, considered filing them away but that was a bit much. She wasn't that weird.

The water bottle from the emergency go-bag she'd found was nearly empty. That had been Kate's sign to start back toward the apartment building. Kicking bits and pieces of crushed blacktop and cement out of her way, Kate froze. She hated that feeling. The cold and uncomfortable feeling of eyes on you. Friendly or not, it just wasn't nice.

Her fingers twitched briefly before two arrows were knocked and aimed toward darkness. Evening her breath and calming her pulse, Kate waited. She'd wait until her feet hurt from standing still; until her arms ached and her shoulder was numb.

The chilled air stung the cuts and scrapes, but Kate stood her ground.

"You got thirty seconds before I pin your creeper ass to the wall! Or whatever's behind you in that dark area space!"

Unless it was a creature. Then they had even less.

Natasha had been out for god only knew how long and she had promised Nate she would come home and rest for a bit. Which would be a very short but but hopefully she could sneak out without him noticing although somehow she doubted it. She wasn't certain exactly where the rest of them were, but since they'd all promised Nate to check in, she was sure Nat would know.

She wasn't that surprised to feel that she was being watched and she pulled out her gun preparting to shoot whatever was there. Then she heard a decidely human voice and she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Nothing's behind me, I just came out of there. I'm not a creeper so put down the bow.." She
d had plenty of experience disarmings someone with a bow but she wasn't going to say that until she knew if this person was friendly or in cahoos with those monsters. "I'm Natasha, I live in that building over there, I'm just trying to get home to check on my family."

"Nat?" Kate hadn't caught herself before asking, knowing that this Natasha wouldn't know her. That was alright. She wasn't about to shoot her, right? Kate hoped not. Lowering the bow and arrow, she nodded in Nat's direction. "It's cool. I'm cool." Though the bow was lowered, Kate kept the arrow knocked and ready. There was no telling just what was lingering behind buildings and the collecting rubble.

There was a moment, in Kate's mind, that began buzzing in genuine excitement at the idea of getting to fight beside Nat. She only hoped that she, herself, wasn't actually buzzing.

"I'm Kate. Kate Bishop. The other Hawkeye lurking around the apartment building now? I was heading that way, too. I thought I'd see what was going on, though. Get a lay of the land and maybe punch a few creatures. And by punch I mean shoot and by shoot I mean shoot and punch and shoot some more. Especially with this quiver. Some kid made it endless. How amazing is that?"

There she went talking a mile of minute about everything and nothing.

It took her a moment but she dropped her gun although she didn't put it away. She'd noticed that the person who'd said her name was Kate had also not commpletely let her guard down. That was good since god only knew if one of those things would show up out of nowhere.

Thanks to a year and a half here, Nat knew that this was obviously someone who knew another version of her. She didn't recognize the name and she wondered if another self had had another kid. "Two Hawkeyes. Is the buliding ready for that?" she gave a little grin. "Well it's nice to meet you, Kate. I'm going out on a limb and guess that you know me from some other place because I would remember you if we'd met. I seem to have a thing for archers." That was an understatement if there ever was one.

Kate gave a snort and followed it with a laugh. "That would be correct. But I'm pretty sure that you're on the same level of amazing here as you are where I'm from." There'd been a reason why Kate had snatched Black Widow's original belt from the Avenger's Mansion for her initial costume.

Shrugging a bit at Nat's comment, Kate smirked. "Probably not, but we managed to keep our apartment building in one piece. I think it'll be okay." There was a pause, Kate having taken steps to close the space between herself and Nat.

It'd be nice to have the company on the walk back to the apartments, close or not. Especially when it was Natasha.

"I mean, from what I've read, there's at least one or two other Bartons running around. Some with arrows. Others with...so-so comebacks. Sounds like Clint's been slacking."
