Helping wasn't really John's strong point. To be fair he only really got involved before because of Molly and Klara. And they weren't here any more.

But Kate had already gone off to help people, and John was fairly sure Rogue would be doing the same, and Emma had already nudged him to see if he wanted a psychic link to them -and he did, but he opted not to, if only so he didn't worry too much knowing what was going on. He'd rather assume it was fine up until the last minute.

He couldn't even say why he decided to go out. Although he started off with Lockheed with him, the two of them making a decent enough fire combo, before the dragon likely went off to help Kate -or annoy Pete, who knew. John could draw on the fires they'd made already, and he wasn't exactly worried about burning trees or buildings right then, the Entity could fix the mess later.

Burning these things took longer than he'd like though, and with one coming at him, engulfed in flames, and another seemingly drawn in by the fire and heat, John could feel the heat in his hands getting a bit too much -which meant things were burning to their hottest, and it still wasn't going down.

Fuck.

Awaking to the word that this sphere was under attack yet again, did not surprise Yennefer. Over time she'd come to realize that this place seemed to find extreme ways to maintain balance. It was either delirious- albeit sometimes unwanted- happiness or terror. The in-between wasn't that much better if she were to be honest. Though, she supposed Goodland was far preferable to the Continent.

At least, when all hell broke loose she could unleash her chaos.

Leaving Geralt standing guard at Elena and Damon's door, she made her way through the throng of monsters- portalling when necessary or when she grew bored. Normally she wouldn't have been too keen on lending a hand, but remaining inside wasn't an option either. If anything it could have been more dangerous. No one wanted an anxious agent of chaos cooped up indoors.

It wasn't too long before she caught the familiar scent of burning flesh. It wasn't quite the same as the carnage of the Nilfgaardians, but not even the stench of these creatures could mask the familiarity of the fire. Tilting her head for a moment, she simply watched for a moment as the flames poured from his hands.

When the two monsters drew closer to him, Yen stepped forward unleashing her own fiery inferno upon them until they finally succumbed to the flames. "Impressive," she stated simply. It was a rare occurrence for her to admit such a thing, but she couldn't deny his skills.

He felt the zing of new fire before he felt it engulf his own, adding to the heat and melting these creatures down to sizzling masses of burnt flesh. There was something oddly comforting about the smouldering lumps, charred skin stinking out the air, but John already feeling the adrenaline spike that went with the abundance of fire.

Even with the heat in his hands.

"Same." It was rare that John got to meet another firestarter, or manipulator/bender. Sure, some people really liked fire around here, but few people had the same obsessive compulsion he did. "Thanks, too." Because sure, he was coping but he'd probably be engulfing himself without that assist. "Think anyone would mind if we just set the whole park on fire?"

Yennefer's nose crinkled in disgust at the piles of grotesque flesh sizzling before her. As annoyed as she was with the situation overall, she couldn't deny that it felt good to unleash all of that chaos that constantly coursed through her veins. For decades she'd kept it bottled up because that was what she was told she must do, but it had become quite the challenge to do so after the Battle of Sodden Hill.

It never all quite fit back into that bottle properly.

"Think nothing of it." For once she actually meant that without any ulterior motives to be owed anything. Yen typically wanted everything, but she didn't consider this to be one of those instances. It was rare for her to meet a kindred spirit after all, and she felt her lips curl up into a smirk. "Do we care," she asked with an arch of her eyebrow. "I can contain it so it doesn't spread beyond the park. Just a lovely little firescape for as many of these fucks as we can get inside."

Tingles were still spreading, and John was mostly ignoring the sharp edge of pain to them, deciding to focus on the adrenaline and the power rush that came with using his powers anyway. "That might work."

There was enough of these beast things that getting them into a location wouldn't be hard. They trailed towards the fire a lot, like moths or fireflies, either attracted to the light or the heat. But they also burned pretty spectacularly too, even if it took a little bit to get them really smouldering. "They follow the flames, if we get them kind of centre mass, you could cage them in."

John at least knew his limits, he couldn't maintain that big a place, although he could feed it.
