Hannah
Jim
WHO Hannah Abbott & Jim Kirk • WHERE Hannah's Apartment
WHEN Aug. 13th, 2020, shortly after this • WARNINGS None
Hey there, stranger.
Hannah wasn’t sure if it was possible to her heart to feel both heavy and excited all at once. On the one hand, Hannah was thrilled to find out that Jim Kirk was around, even if he had also left, how lucky for the both of them to remember! On the other hand, so much time had passed in Goodland, so much had changed, even if it felt like no time had passed for her at all.

While she was happy to chat with friends that were happy to see her back, she was most anxious about finding Jim. This was the third time Hannah would be in Goodland, she didn’t know why she left the last two times, but she was glad that the Jubilant Entity decided to bring her back. Once she found out where Jim was staying, she wasted no time to find his room. She was nearly out of breath by the time she reached his door, nervously she knocked three times, an excited smile growing across her face.

Hannah was greeted with a grin just as wide when Jim pulled open the door to his apartment to find her standing there. It wasn’t as much of a surprise as it would have been if she’d showed up before her post to the web board. He’d been back just a few weeks now, which was enough time to sort of settle back into the Goodland routine and see that his youth center had been left in good hands. He hadn’t been disappointed to be back here, but he’d be lying if he claimed he hadn’t been sorry to find that Hannah wasn’t here when he first came back.

He was really glad the Entity had decided to rectify that.

Grinning at her for a moment, he soon swept her up into a warm hug, just in case his expression wasn’t enough to demonstrate how glad he was to see her.

Hannah let out a small laugh of relief and joy. How did she get incredibly lucky? While she wished she hadn’t left a second time, she likely would have had to deal with Jim’s disappearance, much like he did with her the first time around. The fact that they both seemed to arrive back around the same time made her feel very grateful. She wasn’t sure how much power the Entity had, but she was thankful to be brought back with memories and even more so to be in Jim’s arms once more.

“Hey there, stranger.” She said, still smiling.

“You’re really here.” It seemed like a stupid thing to say, but a part of him had been afraid to believe she was really here until he’d seen her for himself. It felt like some time since they’d been together in Goodland, though it had only been weeks since he’d come back, himself.

“It’s really good to see you.”

Hannah smiled but understood because it was also almost hard for her to believe that he was here with her as well. “I’m really here.” She answered. He was just as handsome as she remembered, and those eyes...was it possible that they’ve become even more striking?

“It’s good to see you too. It certainly makes you wonder, doesn’t it? We both left, me for a second time, and the Entity finding its way to bring us back. Not to mention with memories, I guess it really does like us.” It certainly made Hannah wonder. Others have made the comment to Hannah a few times that the Entity seemed to like her.

“Well, who could blame it,” Jim said, smirking a little at the comment. “We are both pretty damn great.” It did seem that the Entity wanted them around, even if it had sent them both home. It made a part of him wonder how much control it really did have in all of this. Did it bring specific people to Goodland intentionally or was the choice just random? It wasn’t a question he expected to find an answer for, but he was curious.

“I think,” he added (smoothly, he liked to think), “that we should do some exploring and see what’s changed. “Are you hungry?”

Hannah laughed. “You’re not wrong.” It was so strange that she didn’t remember this place back home, so it seemed odd to say how much she missed it, but knowing time had passed, knowing she was gone, she was still filled with a feeling of missing and longing. As much as she loved her home, she loved this place too. If it was in the cards for her to stay a while, Hannah certainly wasn’t going to argue.

“That’s a great idea,” she replied. Until Jim had mentioned it, Hannah didn’t realize that she was hungry. “Yeah, I could eat but first-” Hannah, feeling a little brave, leaned up to give him a small kiss. She didn’t want to overstep, were things different? She didn’t know, but she couldn’t deny how much she missed him.

When she pulled back, she grinned, her cheeks slightly pink. “Okay, now I’m ready.”

The kiss wasn’t something Jim was going to object to in the slightest. He leaned into it, returning the quick embrace without a second thought and when they pulled apart again, he was grinning like an idiot. Still smiling, he took her hand. “Let’s go, then.” he said as they started toward the exit.
