Who: Bruce and Lyra Banner
What: Hopefully getting out of this stupid forest of doom
When: Wednesday
Where: Starting at the villas but heading into the forest of doom
Warnings: ...forest of doom. But also, she's in first grade. So.
Bruce had spent the better part of the last few days tearing apart the city looking for one of those damn doors. There really didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to them. They just sort of appeared to whoever, wherever. Which was not suiting his needs at all. He had at least taken the time to throw together a bag of essentials. There was water, a box of snack bars, even Lyra's favorite candy because he was going to find her. And she was going to be safe and she was going to get out of there and she'd want candy and she'd need to be spoiled and--okay, he was panicking again.
He was also armed. Something he almost never did. While the Hulk might have been terrifyingly violent, Bruce himself was almost a pacifist. He'd only learned to shoot because SHIELD had practically forced him. But with his bigger, greener half being stubborn, he knew it couldn't hurt to have a weapon available. Even if Sam wasn't having much luck taking them down.
This was just a really bad week overall.
He was on the edge of giving up, honestly, and just hoping Valkyrie could maybe find her when he sat up from his fitful half hour nap and saw...well, damn. A door. And he could feel it, that sucking sensation that everyone had described, that meant whether he wanted to or not, he was heading in.
It was basically as terrifying as everyone had described. Or as terrifying as those who could admit it had described. The sound was irritating, and Bruce could actually feel it. For the first time in a long time, he felt that tingling sensation, the near itch that meant the Hulk was under the surface, both angry and protective. "Come on, buddy, now would be a really good time to show your face," he muttered, closing his eyes and putting effort into what had once been an entirely simple task.
But nothing. Bruce had long ago thought maybe the Hulk just couldn't bear to face Thanos again but now? He really wasn't so sure. Either way, he was on his own and he could see those things in the distance. They didn't have a very distinct hunting style, apparently. Just run at thing, attack thing, run after next thing. Okay. Okay, he could work with this. He may not have Clint and Nat's stealth training, but he was hardly an idiot here. The first order of business, though, was to find Lyra. He had the map that Julia had magicked up (and that was still weird no matter how many odd things Bruce had seen in this world) and the little dot that wasn't exactly close to him but was definitely within reach. He could get to her, but he had to do so without...well, getting killed, apparently.
This was going to be fun.
