Valkyrie had stepped into Asgard with a cloud of emotions so thick you could cut it with a straw. She had never expected to see this place ever again, and during the harvest no less, she was feeling every connection she used to have flared to life. It was overwhelming and exhausting all at the same time. Braids were tied into a thicker braid down the center of her back. Dark eyes hazy with emotions. Legs stretched under her before she started walking.

She headed down into the shadows, following a well-known path towards the old armory and barracks. Her fingers trailed over the cut marble walls, a wistful smile on her face, the prick of tears in the corners of her eyes. She stopped at the door to the armory first - she didn't know if anything would come home with her but she wanted to pick up one of her favorite spears. Gungnir was gone but there were others she liked.

Her head came up to see Torunn not far behind and she offered the young woman a soft, rare, smile. "Torunn, shall I show you one of my favorite places here?" she asked gently, a huge offer from the notoriously private Valkyrie.

	Torunn, in her time, did not remember Asgard. She wasn't even sure it was Asgard at first. She'd been so young when her parents cast her out; it was bittersweet seeing the place now. She'd been lost in thought and overwhelmed with emotions when she heard Valk's voice. "Oh, hi," she said softly. "Sure. If you don't mind." (Reply to this) (Thread)

"Welcome to Asgard." she said gently as she gestured towards the Armory doors, then opened them, and held her arm out for the woman to join her. "This is one of my favorite places, but, to be honest, I did not have a lot of places in Asgard - the stables, the barracks or the Armory were where I spent most of my life. I wonder if Aragorn is here and I could bring him home with me." she sighed then smiled.

"Come on."

	Torunn followed her inside. She wasn't familiar with Valk's story, but she surmised enough to know it involved darkness. "I hope he is here," she replied before following along. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"He came back to me at home. I might just ask the Entity for him if I don't see him here." she smiled, the walls were lined with varying weapons and quality of weapons. It was decorated with things she'd used. "I loved sitting in here polishing weapons for hours. I don't know if they'll come with, but, I might be able to find something that you might like." 	Torunn felt mesmerized by all the gorgeous weapons adorning the walls. "Oh, Valk," she said, almost breathless, "this is *amazing*." Other people might have treated her like she was "just" fourteen (almost fifteen, thank you), but she never felt that way with Valk. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Valkyrie loved the girl - and while she was still, really, a baby in her eyes simply based on years lived, she thought she was well and truly grown up enough to treat her as one. Age was a number. You could be wise beyond your years at 10 and she tried to make Torunn feel that she appreciated her and her strength.

"Aren't they?" she ran her hand over a long silver tipped, elegantly carved spear. She hefted it and judged it's weight. "Pick something, we can go test out any you might like." she looked over at the young woman, all seriousness.

	Torunn took her time surveying the different weapons. She already had a sword so she decided on a shield. "This is gorgeous," she told Valk. It made her think of James. He'd probably like to see it too. "I wonder if I could wield it with my sword?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She watched her for a moment then smiled, "I would imagine so. I can show you, if you can't figure it out on your own. I think that is a wonderful choice." 	She laughed, "Sort of, these are mostly spares, some for trainees, and ones to practice with. All of mine are, were, in my rack by my bunk in the barracks. I'm not sure if any are there now." She's smiled, "this was handy if we need to arm people who weren't usually armed. Or if you wanted to try something new." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Torunn nodded. "Tony would say something like that. My Tony at home I mean." She smiled, thinking about her family back in their compound. She liked Goodland most days, but she still missed her foster dad and brothers. "Be prepared for the unexpected and all that. It is why he trained us. End of the world and all that." Torunn sometimes wondered what she'd be like had she been raised in Asgard, but she wouldn't have her family then. It was a hard thing to wrap her head around. Had her parents actually done her a favor in casting her out of the realm? She ached to know the reasons, but knew she'd probably never get the answers she wanted. "You ready?" She held up her shield, excitement written all over her face.
