Roommate Bonding

After days of pestering, leaving notes, making (what she thinks were) good arguments for hanging out as a group, the stars finally aligned and all the under 18 residents of apartment 5-B decided it was high time they got together and did something as a group. After some discussion, going to the movies wins and after even more discussion, they decide on seeing The Curse of La Llorona.*

The kids are obviously not old enough to buy Rated R tickets, so as they make their way to the theatre they come across [Volunteer A] who they convince to buy them tickets to see the movie. [Volunteer B] is with them, and wonders if they should see the movie with the kids and take them back after, but [A] convinces them to just let the kids have fun. Freddy Freeman buys a soda and accidentally knocks it over before they even get into the theatre all over Tim Drake.

[Movie Volunteer E] makes the mistake of sitting next to Lux, who talks through the entire movie and cries at the end because she thinks its real and has to be reassured that it was, in fact, not something that actually happened. Jughead Jones suggests when the movie is over that they go get something to eat, and they end up at the nearest diner to the movie theatre.

At the diner [Open to 3!] show up and join in on the fun, though the diner is empty aside from them. [Volunteer G] dares [Volunteer H] to drink a weird concoction of things mixed into a coca-cola for five bucks. The rowdy bunch get mean looks from the diner's employees but aren't asked to leave even after [Volunteer I] laughs so hard they spit soda all over the table.

As it gets later, the group eventually dissolves into smaller groups as people leave. All in all, Lux considers the mission successful.

HOW THIS WORKS

  • Roommates are allowed to bring a +1!!

  • Volunteer positions are open to anyone, except "movie volunteer" positions are only open to the 5-B roommates and their +1's.

  • Please only claim one volunteer spot (spots are first-come-first-serve). If after three hours spots are still open, you may take a second volunteer spot.

  • There is NO PRESSURE to do full threads here. This is quick-prose, little 2-3 sentence responses that's somewhere in between journal posting and threading.

  • *I chose the horror movie to avoid canon-puncturing because basically eveything else in theatres currently has a character in this game in it lmao, or was not a movie kids would see so. If you are opposed or have alternate suggestions, please lmk!

♥ Have fun everyone!!

» On The Way: Before & during the walk / bus ride to the movie theatre.

» Regal Cinemas: For all scenes before, during, and after the movie!

» Cosmic Diner: Your sligtly still upscale but mostly average American diner.

» Post-Party: For anything that happens after people leave the diner!

» OOC - Discussion: For all your shit-posting needs :D

Lux + Freddy

She nearly jumped, turning around to see Freddy come into the living room. "I'm FINE! I'm just EXCITED!"

Dramatically, she threw herself down onto the couch, draping her legs over the arm and looking at him upside-down. "Have you ever been to a MOVIE before!? What's it LIKE!?"

Freddy laughed at her antics. He was energetic, but Lux reminded him of someone who drank five Red Bull drinks, with meant he loved her immediately. "Yeah, I have," he said. "It is like when we watch the television here, but the screen is..." He held his hands out wide. "Really big. Movies are like two hours usually."

"WOW really!?" Immediately flipping over and putting her hands underneath her chin, Lux's eyes went wide. "Two whole hours! I don't think I've ever sat and done nothing but watch something for two whole hours! Are there RULES?"

"I mean..." How did one explain movie etiquette? Freddy didn't consider himself the best explainer of things. "You need to turn off phones. And you need to know where emergency exits are." He wasn't sure why he thought of the last bit. Maybe because every commercial prior to a feature film announced it?

"You're so knowledgable!" Lux exclaimed, in very obvious and sincere awe. "Turn off the phones and find the exits. Why are they 'emergency exits' and not regular exits? Can you only leave through them in an emergency? How do the exits know its an emergency? That's very strange, you know, we only have doors in my world, and you can use them for any purpose at any time! Well, mostly, of course, you can't just walk into a closed-door to someone's bedroom or something, that's inappropriate, but if there were an emergency you could just open it. There's nothing special about our doors."
