Roommate Bonding

After days of pestering, leaving notes, making (what she thinks were) good arguments for hanging out as a group, the stars finally aligned and all the under 18 residents of apartment 5-B decided it was high time they got together and did something as a group. After some discussion, going to the movies wins and after even more discussion, they decide on seeing The Curse of La Llorona.*

The kids are obviously not old enough to buy Rated R tickets, so as they make their way to the theatre they come across [Volunteer A] who they convince to buy them tickets to see the movie. [Volunteer B] is with them, and wonders if they should see the movie with the kids and take them back after, but [A] convinces them to just let the kids have fun. Freddy Freeman buys a soda and accidentally knocks it over before they even get into the theatre all over Tim Drake.

[Movie Volunteer E] makes the mistake of sitting next to Lux, who talks through the entire movie and cries at the end because she thinks its real and has to be reassured that it was, in fact, not something that actually happened. Jughead Jones suggests when the movie is over that they go get something to eat, and they end up at the nearest diner to the movie theatre.

At the diner [Open to 3!] show up and join in on the fun, though the diner is empty aside from them. [Volunteer G] dares [Volunteer H] to drink a weird concoction of things mixed into a coca-cola for five bucks. The rowdy bunch get mean looks from the diner's employees but aren't asked to leave even after [Volunteer I] laughs so hard they spit soda all over the table.

As it gets later, the group eventually dissolves into smaller groups as people leave. All in all, Lux considers the mission successful.

HOW THIS WORKS

  • Roommates are allowed to bring a +1!!

  • Volunteer positions are open to anyone, except "movie volunteer" positions are only open to the 5-B roommates and their +1's.

  • Please only claim one volunteer spot (spots are first-come-first-serve). If after three hours spots are still open, you may take a second volunteer spot.

  • There is NO PRESSURE to do full threads here. This is quick-prose, little 2-3 sentence responses that's somewhere in between journal posting and threading.

  • *I chose the horror movie to avoid canon-puncturing because basically eveything else in theatres currently has a character in this game in it lmao, or was not a movie kids would see so. If you are opposed or have alternate suggestions, please lmk!

♥ Have fun everyone!!

» On The Way: Before & during the walk / bus ride to the movie theatre.

» Regal Cinemas: For all scenes before, during, and after the movie!

» Cosmic Diner: Your sligtly still upscale but mostly average American diner.

» Post-Party: For anything that happens after people leave the diner!

» OOC - Discussion: For all your shit-posting needs :D

FREDDY was trying to balance his popcorn and drink, but he got distracted by a poster for the newest superhero film. "Oh!" He said as he bumped into something (someone?) and lost his grip on his cup. He wished he could blame it on his cane, but, really, it was because he was easily distracted.

Tim would probably blame it on Freddy’s cane too and then internally feel bad about that because it seemed presumptuous. Freddy seemed excitable, distractible, and that was likely the culprit of walking straight into another person. Rather than catching Freddy’s lost cup, Tim made a very good wall, because he was also distracted.

This looked like a very real movie theater. The posters looked familiar, like they should actually exist in his own reality. He was too focused on finding discrepancies. He didn’t find any before Freddy bumped into him and spilt his cup of soda down the back of Tim’s shirt.

Tim followed the downward journey of the cup and then glanced up at Freddy and said, “sorry.”

Freddy gasped when he felt himself push into a body. "Oh no, no, sorry, sorry. Tim, your shirt!" Freddy tried to dab at him with a napkin. Out of everyone he could have run into, why Tim, the one he knew least? And, likely, the coolest? Freddy felt like an idiot.
