Immediately, Loki's eyes focused on Thor's hands, wondering why in the actual hell he was attempting some form of, was it comfort? Focusing once more he nodded slightly when the knowledge of Thanos boarding was brought into the open. Loki wasn't entirely surprised. His brain had been planning for that, that's why he had taken it. The Tesseract. It was a bargaining chip to keep his people alive.
Suddenly though, Thor was reciting out loud his overall plan. The idea to buy their lives for the Tesseract. Deceive Thanos. Escape. It was all perfect. There was no way such a thing could fail. But that was not the story he was getting, was it? He had... he had died? Impossible. This was absolutely impossible. Loki never died. He always had a backup plan. And beyond his backup plan, another back up plan.
He was mistaken.
...But the look on his brother's face said otherwise. Clearing his throat, Loki smirked, though it was forced and half-hearted. "You must be mistaken, brother." The last word was said with a slight bit of emphasis, still trying to alert Thor to the fact Loki still didn't entirely believe him. Yet, he knew what Odin had said...
"I always have a plan to save myself. That is simply who I am. There must be a mistake here."
