She was setting up her weaving loom when Colin came out, she'd heard the shower on and there was lunch on that kitchen table - just beef sandwiches with fresh garden lettuce, onion and tomatoes - but she'd not wanted to bother him to let him know.
Until he looked utterly panicked. She gave him a soft smile putting her hands up to show she had nothing to hurt him with. She was a mother so she had the occurrence of a saint, she'd been new here too once, so she didn't take offense.
"You must be Colin. Are you okay?" She said gently, her voice was accented with what was closest to Norwegian sounding, she looked fierce (and she was) but she knew how to be gentle. "I am Lagertha, sorry to have startled you. I am to be your guardian here." It was surprising to her to be given a ward, but not shocking. She'd raised two children, back home, and watched over many others. She just hadn't expected it here.
