Who: Tomoichi Sato and OPEN
What: Tom is new in town!
Where: Outside of Ostrich Villa’s
When: Late afternoon, Tuesday.
One moment, Tom had been sitting in the boat house, pouring over the old leather book as the twilight filled the old workshop--- the next, Tom was squinting into the afternoon sun. This… this was definitely not Arthur’s house, he thought as he blinked against the sudden light. This wasn’t even Pine Springs! This city was much, much bigger.
The Grimoire was no longer in his hands, it had been on the table in front of him, but he patted himself down… his tool belt was still strung around his waist, with a handful of old boat repairing tools, and luckily for him, his runed wrench pressed against the small of his back. He wasn’t comfortable with what was happening, but at least he could fight his way out if he had to.
But nothing was attacking. Other than the city stench of smog and petrol, there was nothing assaulting him, nothing threatening him. A page of paper fell in front of him, catching his eye. Is this like what Vance was talking about? She had said something about papers from a journal that would sometimes appear out of nowhere to guide her… he had to at least look right? And if it were just litter, he could throw it away. No harm done.
Tom’s eyebrows raised as he scanned the page. “A jubilant entity?” He asked himself, humming a little in thought. This had never happened before-- most entities he’d met so far had tried to kill him. Had he cast a spell on accident? Everything in his gut told him that he shouldn’t trust the entity, but where else did he have to go other than the apartment it denoted on the paper.
He needed to call someone… Andy or Arthur or Vance. He patted his pockets down and realized that it had been sitting on the table in front of him, thus left discarded with the grimoire in the boat house. “Fuck,” He muttered to himself as he walked. He thought about stopping someone on the street to see if he could use their phone… but he didn’t actually have any of his friends' numbers memorized. He couldn’t exactly call 9-1-1 and ask to be patched through to Parker-- the new Police chief of Pine Springs.
He moved through the busy streets, he couldn’t help but feel like heading to the apartments was a trap, but he clutched the letter tightly in his hand. He paused, and trying to seem as casual as he could, he stopped someone on the street. “Uh…” He spotted the Ostriches and decided to use that as his opening. “What’s the story with this building, huh?” He asked, attempting casual. If the Entity wanted him there so bad, he was at least going to find out why before trying to find a way home.
