Who: Liz and Kyle What: Power swap Where: Liz's place When: Way backdated to April Warning: Feels! All the feels
Liz knew something weird was going on when she woken up that morning with a pounding headache and too many voices in her head. Sitting up with a groan, she grabbed her phone and began scrolled through the network to see what was going on. Of course something was going on. The Enitity was at it again. Muttering to herself in Spanish, she dialed Kyle's number and put the phone up to her ear while her hand covered her other ear like that sound some how help tune out the voices in her mind.
---
For the most part, everything felt normal for Kyle that morning. He hand stuck to the bar of soap for a moment while he was in the shower, but he shrugged it off like it was nothing and went on about his routine to get ready for the day. After getting into his room and pulling his shorts on he heard Liz's ringtone, which made him smile a little as he stepped over to his phone and picked it up, accepting her call. "Buenos Dias, Bonita (Good morning, beautiful)," he said cheerfully into the phone, completely oblivious as to what was going on with anyone else.
---
His greeting made her smile and forget about all the voices in her head for a moment. He had always been magical like that. Just talking to him could make her forget about everything was bothering her and she loved that. She needed that in her life. It was all fine until one particular person, whomever they were, basically screamed his thought in her mind and she groaned out lout as she leaned forward, putting her whole forehead in her hand. "Buenos Dias, Guapo (Good Morning, Handsome). Are you experiencing anything weird today?" She asked as she lifted her head back up and she forced herself into a standing position. Maybe moving around would help. Anything was worth a shot at this point.
---
"Funny you mention that," Kyle sighed as he shook his head. "My fingers are a little sticky. Not sure if there is anything else yet." It was true that this was all he had to report at the moment, but he knew that there had to be a reason as to why she was calling him. "So what freaky card did you draw, favorite?"
She moved around her bedroom as they walked, not wanting to disturb her roommates yet ( though she was sure she hear their thoughts jumped around somewhere in her head ) and her eyebrows went up when she heard what he said. "Sticky fingers? That's ... really random" And something she needed to see in person, which worked with she was going to ask him later. "Well, I have a hypothesis to answer your question but I need someone to do the experiment. Can you come over and be my test subject?"
---
"You're telling me," he let out a small groan as he quickly finished getting dressed. "But of course, you know that I'd do anything for you," he slipped on his shoes. "Am I going up, or are you already in your lab?"
---
"Come up. This calls for immediate action. I'll go make coffee. Just come in" She hung up the phone after that and went out into the kitchen to get put the cafe de olla together after unlocking the door. With what she had in mind, she felt like she needed to spoil him a little bit because this was going to be a lot to ask of him. It needed to be done, though, so she could figure out exactly what was happening to her.
---
Without a second thought, Kyle made his way up to Liz's apartment. He knew from experience that Miranda was likely already up for a while now, but he wasn't sure about Lizzie and Maya. So when he got up to their apartment, he was courteous and quiet when he walked in and went for the kitchen. He knew that something was bothering Liz, and he was definitely ready to fix whatever it was. Well... while working on whatever was happening to him.
---
There was no noise in the apartment aside from Liz moving around the kitchen making the coffee. She wasn't sure what her other roommates were doing at the moment so she didn't want to play music and wake them up, though it sounded like a great idea so she could drown out the voices in her head. "You know how Rosa used to do drugs and drink to quiet the voices in her head? I think she was onto something" Liz started when she saw him come into the kitchen.
---
With that opener, Kyle frowned. At the same time, he automatically knew what power she happened to receive in all of this madness. He'd have to watch what he was thinking, but that was going to be difficult. Even beautiful when freaking out. And there he went, but at the same time, maybe she could focus on just his voice to quiet the others. "Isn't it a little early to start drinking, Liz?," he frowned in disapproval.
---
Still in her pajamas ( which today was a pair of sweats with one leg pushed up from her sleeping, a loose fitting t-shirt and an open sweater she'd put on when she got up ), Liz very clearly heard his voice in her head and it mad her snap her head up as she stood in front of the stove stirring their coffee. The experiment hadn't even started yet and it was successful. She was frankly a little thrown off by it and it took her a moment to reply back to him. "I-I'm not" She replied with a shake of her head. "I'm not that desperate. Yet" She told him as she covered the pot so it could all steep together. She set a timer on her phone as she stepped away then she looked at him. "Think something again"
---
Kyle raised his eyebrow, yet complying without really even thinking about it. Your head is already crowded enough with your own thoughts, he shook his head, figuring what her newfound ability may be. Which... actually made him quite anxious. The last thing he wanted right now was for her to find out how he felt. Or... did he? He wasn't sure how long it had been since she last saw Max Evans.
---
Liz had that look of concentration on her face as she stared at him, trying to block out all the other voices so she only heard his. It didn't completely work but she did hear him more clearly this time. "True facts" She replied out loud, confirmed that she did indeed hear him in her mind. StarshineGoomba05/05/2020 He smiled, walking over to her and placing a hand on her cheek, not remembering that he was probably going to stick to her. "Just look at me and foc-" he was cut off by a croak coming out of his mouth. You have **got** to be kidding me he groaned, shaking his head.
---
Liz raised her eyebrows and burst out laughing at what came out of his mouth. "Ay dios Mio what was that?" She asked, tossing her head back in her signature way when really found something funny. She stopped laughing when his hand went with with her, staying on her cheek. "You weren't kidding when you said your fingers were sticky..." She said as she looked up at him, confused.
---
"So... I'm some sort of frog?" he sighed, shaking his head. I'm sorry. He frowned, taking a deep breath to calm himself as he went to slowly pull his hand away from her cheek.
---
"I have no words right now" She told him as she reached up, putting her hand on his. Together they got his hand off of her cheek and when they did, intertwined their fingers together as she looked up at him. "We'll get through this somehow. These things don't last forever"
---
Kyle nodded, "I would hope not, but if they did?" He shrugged, "I'd hope that I'd eventually be able to control it."
