This evening, the Ironfam apartment dwellers and Harley's friends took over part of the rooftop. With Lily's help (read magic), the space was transformed into a casual but cool seating arrangement that allowed everyone to sit together. The long table was covered in plastic and newspaper, and every spot had a mason jar and a stack of napkins. Every third spot had a bowl of clarified butter and small bottle of Old Bay seasoning.

When everyone had gathered, Abbie--with the help of May and Peter--brought out two huge pots of shellfish, corn, potatoes, and sausage. Very carefully, they dumped the food onto the table, working around the bowls of butter, glasses, and pitchers of iced sweet tea. There are no utensiles, and Abbie announced that she would help anyone who didn't know how to eat head-on crawfish. Dessert, for those who had room, was strawberry shortcake. There weren't any candles for Harley to blow out, but Abbie did start Happy Birhday when she brought it out and presented it to her brother.

Per her guidelines and instructions, there were no balloons or banners or anything to mark this as anything more than a family dinner. Except the cake and brief song (and Tony bringing a gift.).
