What the hell was Raven thinking? He didn't want to leave her behind. Her plan sucked. He knew, even as he slipped out and made a run for it that it was going to come back to bite him in the ass. He had to go, he knew that. The plan had a chance of working, there was no chance at all if he insisted on staying. He couldn't protect her, even if he stayed, so he took off, scrambling in the darkness and away from the light like the cockroach that he was.

The collar weighed heavy on his neck. Shaw had said there wasn't time to take it off, that he'd remove it later. Murphy wasn't thrilled, but the look Raven gave him had him scurrying out the door, collar and all. No time to waste, or whatever. Because running off into parts unknown with a live shock collar around his neck was just such a great idea. As long as he was within range, McCreary could activate the collar and send him into convulsions. Yeah. Best not to think about that. He took off over the unfamiliar terrain, sliding, falling, scrambling back to his feet in the darkness, putting one foot in front of the other and just...propelling himself forward.

And then suddenly there was light and he was raising a hand to shield his eyes from the harsh glare of the sun. He froze where he was, eyes slowly adjusting to the sudden shift from night in the forest to daytime in a city. It looked like a picture of ideallic life like what they were shown in their earth history classes on the Ark. His thoughts were a jumbled mess, the prevailing thought being that he must have taken a hell of a hit from the shock collar, and now his brain was creating a whole new world for him to hide out in.

"Murphy?"

Clarke had been here for a little more than two weeks now and hadn't seen a single person she knew from home. She'd started to settle in, finding a job at the clinic down on the first flood of the villa - the complex where everyone lived here, but she was still getting to know the city, which she'd been told was situated on a seeming replica of what he ancestors would have called Manhattan.

She was always amazed at how beautiful everything was here. There were grimy parts , too, of course, but it looked incredible compared to what she had known on her version of Earth. The contrast meant she was prone to taking long walks around Goodland just as a chance to take in all of the beauty surrounding her here. Some days, she'd take her sketchbook and sit somewhere, drawing her surroundings, but today she was just walking when she saw the first familiar face she'd seen in over over weeks.

"Clarke?" Murphy looked at her. She looked...well, mostly the same. A little older. A little more...something. He had a tense past with her, but she was familiar. She was someone, despite their differences and despite the water under their shared bridge, that he respected. She'd damn near sacrificed herself so he and the rest of them on the Ring could survive.

"What...the hell is happening here?" he asked. He felt like he was in a dream. This place couldn't be real. It was a literal bustling city, full of people going about their day. There was no twinge of blood and looming violence in the air, there was no sense of imminent danger hanging about Murphy's shoulders. At least, not unless he counted the collar.

"What is this place? How...why are we here? Where're Bellamy and the others?" Emori, Raven...They had to be around somewhere, right? Bellamy must have found Clarke and...Murphy's head was starting to hurt.
