WHO: Victoire & Dominique Weasley
WHERE: Union State Park
WHEN: Mid-day Monday, April 6th
WARNINGS: Maybe language?
SPOILERS? None.

Victoire spun on her heel as she looked about and the frown tugged at the edges of her mouth. She thought of herself as well adjusted and incredibly bright but if so many people couldn't figure out how to get back home it was unlikely she was going to solve it right then and there. Especially if she considered the fact that there were people from places that were not her home. What had Lily called it? A pocket universe?

Short steps as her legs wobbled slightly and a few deep breaths managed her footing. The ground felt even. All of her bits were where they should be. It was just obvious that she was not home. Now she was preparing on seeing her 18 year old younger sister, 10 years her senior. Where was Dominique at 18? She'd just taken her rather wild summer but she hadn't quite settled into her adulthood to become a Professor of Charms. Victoire Weasley could handle this. Her Oncle had not put her in charge of other Aurors for no reason.

"Dominique?" Victoire's eyes were wide as she spotted another bright blonde and her accent was a slight mix between British and French like Dominique would remember. In her world, she was just over 22.

Goodland was a strange place to Dominique even after months of being there. At times she almost forgot she could use her magic which was why she decided to apparate not that far from where her sister said she would be. After all, she didn't want to give Victoire a heart attack on her first night there. There would be plenty of twists and turns in this place to do that without her adding to it. It was certainly a disorientating place to find yourself.

"Victoire!" She called out happily seeing her sister who looked pretty much like what she would expect her to be. Her older sister had always been the picture of poise, beauty, and togetherness in Dominique's world. Victoire did not have the chaos Dominique felt permeated her world and being.

"Je ne peux pas croire que tu sois là!" She told her sister excitedly the French falling off her lips much more natural than the English. Seven years at Beauxbatons would do that to anyone. Without skipping a beat, Dominique gave her sister a big bear hug. "Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?"

"Je ne peux pas croire qu'il y ait un ici!!" Victoire buried her face into the crook of her sister's neck and into the thick of her golden hair. "I am fine, I promise." Her reassurance was strong, cupping her sister's cheek and looking her over intently. If there was a thread to pull to discover this was a new form of torture, she wanted to discover it before it bit her promptly on the arse.

"Godric, you are so young! I must be so old to you," she snickered as she pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. Victoire gestured towards the streets and back to her sister. "Lead the way petite coquille." It was a nickname she hadn't used since she was little when they lived in Shell Cottage but it felt appropriate given the situation. She really did feel old.

Dominique flashed her sister a bright smile to assure her that things would be fine. After all, they were luckier than most as their entire family was practically there. Every day it seemed like another Potter or Weasley appeared in their midst. Today they had even had two join them.

"You were always old to me," Dominique joked with a laugh as she looped her arm with her sisters. "I am just reassured that I did in fact make it to my twenties," again she was joking but part of her was serious.

Dominique was quite a moment while she tried to think of a priority list of all the things she wanted to tell her sister about. There were so many things they had to catch up on! "How much do you know about this place and the people that are here?" It was probably the best way to start since that was the biggest shock.

"Seeing as Lily is two years ahead of my timeline, at least to 27," she grinned, happy to hug to her arm as they walked. Victoire took in the city and how it moved from park to bustling metropolis within meters of each other. She counted each step internally, roughly 25% sure that this was all some ruse to extract secrets from her.

"Just from what the others mentioned. Pocket universe? From what I remember on my visit to the MACUSA, it is New York...ish? Papa and Maman are my age, Louis is oddly older than you. From there, not much else." The frown sunk against her features, squinting through the rays of sunlight as she looked over to Dominique. "How long have you been here? Are you alright?"

Dominique nodded. "Some kind of New York from what they tell me," she shrugged because having never been to New York City personally, she had to take everyone at their word for it. "Least for today... This place has turned into something like a Candyland, New Orleans, Disney World... It is really odd, even by our magical standards." It just made her believe there was some kind of strange magic at work around them.

"I guess I'll find out what it's like to be the youngest," Dominique said with a shrug. Even with all the odd ages of people, it seemed more normal. "Just as a heads up, even Uncle Fred is here..." That was the one that seemed to throw everyone for a big loop, herself included.

How long had it been? "Since November, right before Papa's birthday." Nearly five months, it felt like it had been five years some days. "I am okay," Dominique assured her sister. She wouldn't say she was alright but she was okay. She didn't want to burden her too much with her just having arrived.

"Candyland, Disney World," she hummed in thought and tilted her head from side to side as she considered what her sister said. Right. "Well, that is strange." Another beat. "Has anyone gotten hurt? Disney and Candyland sounds lighthearted. Are people in danger?"

She smiled at the thought of her being the youngest considering among the Weasley clan, Dominique was among the middle of the pack. "And Louis is ok?" He had a fairly stable and robust quidditch career from her timeline. Imagining him younger took a moment.

The thought of Fred made her chest tighten at once. "Oncle Fred? Godric, how did the others take that? The ones that know, at least. Does Oncle George come from a different time? After he is dead?" The worry washed her features immediately, tightening her hold on her sister's arm.

"Okay." A small frown as she looked to Dominique and sighed. "I will help however I can."

Dominique was quiet a moment. People had gotten hurt but it wasn't in any of those places. Victoire got here, how much was it fair to burden her with at this moment. "Non généralement pas," she told her sister feeling that was the safe answer and it wasn't untrue. She didn't need to know about the villains and Voldermort showing up just yet. Goodland was typically pretty safe.

She nodded. "Louis is Louis," she told her sister with a laugh. It was relieving to her that her siblings were basically the same as she remembered them. "He's doing okay though. He should now have quite a few people to play quidditch with here. I bet Tante Ginny could give him a run for his money." Even as an adult in their own time their aunt had been a fantastic player.

"About as well as you can imagine." It had been hard for everyone but Dominique didn't think so much for them that had never known their uncle. "Uncle George comes from not too long after he died... It was hard, but I think a lot of them are just glad he's here now and they get to be with him. He's just like you'd imagine him to be! I have been helping them at their joke shop while I decide what I want to do after graduation."

"You help just by showing up here," Dominique assured her softly as she gave her sister's arm a small squeeze.

Generally not. That wasn't quite the answer she wanted to hear in terms of safety and security of the place they suddenly called home. Time was a tricky thing to play with which was why the Dept of Mysteries kept such a significant lock on time turners. What you meddle with can change the course of history and thankfully enough, her father came from a time where she was already born but what if he died before he and Fleur ever conceived Dominique or Louis? Would she just disappear?

"It is good to know that Louis is still Louis," she grinned. There was a surprising lightness to her words, all things considered. A lightness that spoke of the time that had passed since she had a meaningful conversation with her younger sister. Work ate up so much of her time lately and if it wasn't work, it was a quick drink and a chat about the weather or something just as dreadful.

"I will be happy to meet him and to see Oncle George with him!" Victoire only knew of George after the loss of his twin brother and though he was nice and full of jokes, their Papa always said he was different before. When he had Fred. "The joke shop is here? At least some things traveled from home!"

"I hope you're right. It is nice to see you and I am glad for some of the familiarity but," she trailed off, glancing back towards where they were walking. "How long are we expected to just be here?"

Dominique nodded happily. "I am not sure it traveled but they redid it here." It was a nice piece of home along with the various family members that seemed to come and go. At least her immediate family seemed to stick around so Dominique hoped Louis and Victoire would too. "It's just like I remember it. Though I admit if we were home I wouldn't be working there, there is not much else to do with our magic here. It'll hold me over until I figure it out and it's great getting to spend so much time with Uncle Fred and George."

She looked at her sister a moment. Right, the hard questions. "No one knows." Was an honest answer. "Some people have been here a while... Aunt Hermione has been here something like eight months. Papa and I have been here since November so almost five months." Dominique shrugged. She tried not to think about the timer each of them had there because it was hard to lose people over and over again.

"Some people aren't here long at all. Aunt Ginny wasn't here long before but now she's back from somewhere else... Grandma Molly was here and then she was gone. Je ne sais pas Vic, people just come and go."
