Life in Goodland was far from awful and Klara had adapted rather well, considering. She actually had some friends, enjoyed her homeschooling, and tried not to get into too much trouble. Yet, despite all this, she always had a faint sadness inside of her. She missed her family and she knew Molly did too. Miss Rogue and them were great, a new sort of family, but they weren't the Runaways. She sat near a rose bush as she stared up at the sky, letting the flowers chatter at her about what birds they had seen lately and just waited. Billy was here. Her heart soared faintly at the thought of someone she actually knew arriving, someone besides Molly, and it gave her hope that the rest of her family might actually show up.
She scrambled up off the rooftop as Billy landed. Her legs were already in motion as she practically threw herself at the older boy. Arms wrapped around his middle as she hugged him tightly. It was when she leaned back to stare up at him that she found herself blinking.
"You grew up," she said in an unimpressed voice. "Which means you are from the wrong time." A dramatic sigh escaped her before she pulled away from the hug to spin around with her arms wide. "This is the roof garden. It isn't mine, but I spend time here. The flowers like it and I like it... I'm glad you are here." She was speaking at some plants, but the remark was all for Billy. "The Avengers are here, but not the ones that were buttheads. Most of the people here are stupid." Yes, she was still holding a grudge over how people had reacted to her voodoo dolls. The people who liked them were neatly in a column in her mind as okay. The ones that had complained or freaked out? She was making no effort to befriend them.
Klara spun around against to clasp Billy's hand between her own. She glanced up at him with a very serious look on her face before she burst out into one of her rare brilliant smiles. It was the type of smile that actually made her appear to be a child without a care in the world. "I have so much to tell you. Molly and I stole a car once, got grounded, and there was the stupid maze, oh and I made it snow for a week." She rambling fast and her accent grew thicker in her excitement. This was really the moment she realized just how much she was craving someone she knew. Something in her features shifted as she realized she was acting in an improper manner and she frowned. Her hands let go of his and she took a step back.
