Hugo felt stifled being in his flat for five long days so he decided to invite his cousin, Louis, out for lunch. The streets looked empty and no one was screaming so he took that as a good time to get out of the apartment.

“Where do you want to go?” He asked as they headed out. “Somewhere close so Lily doesn’t freak?” He remembered her roll call and didn’t want to add to her worries.

“No fucking clue,” Louis said, pulling a face that showed just how much he'd not been on board with the plan. “He told us to come to the flat and then let on that we’d be able to invite people in but once anyone was inside, they wouldn't be able to leave. Bonkers.” He slipped his hands in his pockets, huffing out a breath. “And I got out of it by letting him know it wasn't going to happen.”

“Yeah, I pointed that out.” And it wasn't like Louis didn't understand why Bill had been so upset. He'd had to go find his father having a panic attack in the stairwell and talk him down from all of it, for Merlin’s sake. “I think that's why they're so jumpy about it. Lost Fred, more people outside the family… not like I was about to go running off after Voldemort, but still.”

	"Same," Hugo agreed, although he didn't mention it wasn't for lack of desire, but feelings of inadequacy. He meant it when he told Neville that Defence wasn't his thing. "My mum wrote me," he admitted. "Still odd talking to her, but she was glad I wasn't doing anything." He shrugged. That was how it felt - like he wasn't doing anything. “Still pretty recent for her, I guess.” Louis returned his cousin’s shrug. “Same for Papa. I get it, I don't know how it would be if he was even younger and closer to how old I am. Everything's already so weird.” He shared Hugo's feelings of inadequacy, the main reason he hadn't told the ‘adults’ who he was at first, especially his father. “Not about to go rushing into danger because I know I’m not good about that, so I guess we're not ones they have to worry about.”

	Louis glanced up ahead and stopped abruptly a step ahead of Hugo. He wasn't necessarily familiar with muggle things, not as much as his cousins, but he knew a a giant lion when he saw it. 	Hugo drew his wand and glanced back at the lion. "Like how? Shoo, kitty, kitty?" He grabbed Louis' elbow. "That is Scar, mate. From like a Disney cartoon. How the bloody hell is this happening?" 	All Louis could do was stare. How else was someone supposed to react to a talking lion randomly bursting into song? 	Hugo was definitely the expert when it came to films, so Louis put his faith in what his cousin was saying. He waited long enough to see that the lion actually was stunned before grabbing Hugo's arm and starting them back toward the Villas at a run. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
