Anna Zhu
Jeremy Gilbert
Who: Anna Zhu and Jeremy Gilbert
What: Reuniting
Where: Central Park
When: Tuesday December 31
“Please,” Anna wheezed out, as John stood over her with the stake in his hand. He knew who she was, he knew how intertwined she was with his nephew and if he carried in him half the kindness that the rest of the family did, surely he would spare her. But, he knew as he glared at her, as he gripped the stake, that he was nothing like the rest of Gilberts. She shut her eyes, not wanting to see it come down on her…. But it never came.

Anna’s eyes lazily opened, and she was looking up at a tree top? For the first time in her 500 year’s she had no recollection of how she got from basement to here. She had seen Damon stirring awake, had he saved her? She would have remembered being picked up, surely, but the vervain was twisting in her system making everything harder. She still couldn’t sit up. She was weak. Her brain was foggy. She didn’t see Damon or any other vampires around. Had she gone unconscious? Why would he have left her in a park?

Her body and her arms felt heavy, but she could feel them now, which was better than before. She was able to pull out her phone, but she couldn’t get her thoughts to cooperate. She had to text Jeremy, to tell him, just in case Damon didn’t get out.

She didn’t realize that it would go to some network she barely understood. But when Jeremy did finally responded, she felt better. She trusted Jeremy. She waited for him, and found herself having an even more confusion conversation with Damon. Forcing herself to take several deep breaths as feeling started to come back into her limbs.

Anna was just laying there, her brain slowly unfogging, and the feeling slowly coming back into her limbs. Her phone just rang, and rang and rang for a while. The melody was almost calming to her as she let her mind wander. Things felt wrong, but she couldn’t place exactly what it was. She tried to sit up a little bit when Jeremy dropped next to her, relief flooding her.

“Jeremy, no.” She protested softly. As he pressed his wrist towards her mouth and she could feel the blood pulsing just under his skin, her eyes turned black, her fangs dropping. She had to remember to stop. She couldn’t take much. She struggled for another second as she listened to his words. Lose her again, that didnt make sense.

Wordlessly, she gave into his suggestion and let her fangs sink into his veins. It wasn’t the first time she’d tasted her boyfriends blood, and she could feel it the vervains hold on her lessening as she drank from him. Once she felt okay, she forced herself to stop, retreating from him quickly.

“Jeremy, where the hell are we?”

He was doing something stupid and he knew it, really, but he just didn't care. This was Anna, his first real love. She had haunted his thoughts for the longest time and had never really left. Jeremy would do anything for her, just like he would for Bonnie, so he didn't even think twice about offering his blood to her. A faint his escaped him as the fangs bit into his flesh. This was different than Silas drinking from him. He trusted Anna, even her current state, and he knew had the means to stop her if need be.

"Central Park," he said to her question as he dug into his bag for his sports wrap. Jer used it to bind his wrist up like a makeshift bandage. He'd deal with the bite later.

"It is New York City, sort of. We are in someplace called Goodland. I guess magic. We were snagged from different worlds, times, and so on." He reached out to help her sit up.

"Hey, how are you feeling? I know this is a lot to wake up to." Jeremy gave her a sad smile. He never thought he'd see her again since he had stopped seeing ghosts awhile ago. This was great and painful at the same time. The things she was going to have to deal with soon were not going to be pleasant. Learning the world had moved on was annoying and painful.

“Different worlds?” Anna blinked. It was strange enough in her mind that they’d gotten from Mystic Falls all the way to New York without her even noticing, but to have been pulled by magic into another world? “Was this done by a Bennett?” Her eyebrows raised. Anna herself had been friends with Emily Bennett in their youth, and knew how strong that family line was, she’d seen Bonnie’s strength even when she knew nothing about the craft.

Anna herself was still weak, but able to move around on her own. She was vervain laced and starving, but she wouldn’t take anymore out of Jeremy. She couldn’t. She refused. She moved to lean against him though, the thumping of his heart was steady at least.

“What did you mean, by lose me again?” she asked him gently.

"The Bennetts have nothing to do with this," Jeremy shrugged faintly since he didn't know the real answer. "It is some Entity as far as I know, I mean Bonnie is here, but... I don't think she has figured out what is doing this. I haven't asked." He had read the letter she had sent him and it been bittersweet. His feelings for Bonnie were as complicated as ever now.

Without a second thought, he put an arm around Anna and then found himself stilling. A simple question spawned by his careless words. He swore under his breath before wondering if he could lie somehow. No, it would blow up in his face. This place had a way of making things known in a painful way. "Anna," he hedged carefully. "You..." He pressed his face against the top of her head as he fought with himself. This was yanking up all the painful memories, but he had to tell her.

"Anna, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I wish I could change everything, but- Anna, you...died." Not the most comforting way of telling someone, but he was struggling. This was Anna, the girl he had never gotten over.

Anna wanted to focus on what Jeremy had been saying about an entity and the Bennetts, but everything froze when he finally got his last sentence out. She could almost feel it-- the paralyzation as John stood over her with the stake in his hands. He had killed her mother, and he had killed her, just like Pearl had implied he would. ‘Nothing good comes from a Gilbert’ her mother had said, but she had been talking about Jeremy and his ancestors.

“John killed me.” There was a flash of white hot anger, that was replaced by ice and fear and sadness. Anna choked out a sob and tears fell down her face. She wanted to push Jeremy away and cling to him. She didn’t know what to do and it felt like every emotion in the world was running through her all at once. She felt burst and empty.

“He killed my mom, and then he killed me, and I swear that if I ever see him I will enjoy the pleasure of pulling him apart slowly until he knows just a fraction of the pain that I’ve felt at his hands.” Anna’s words were low and dark, the veins flexing across her face and her eyes going black. She would enjoy destroying him--- which is not a thought that Anna had very often at all.

The sob broke his heart and he reached out to pull her into a hug. He pressed his face against the top of her head as he tried to be there for her. Learning you died wasn't an easy thing. Hell, he had known he was dead when he arrived and it still sucked. He still had dreams that felt so real. He could feel the blood leaving his body as his neck screamed in agony. He woke up with a silent scream on his lips every time. Dying really fucked with a person's head.

"I know," was all he said as he sat there holding her. His Uncle had deserved his fate and he prayed the man never showed up in Goodland. There would be several people wanting to rip his head from his shoulders. Jer was with them on that one. John didn't deserve some second chance here. He deserved to burn in Hell.

"I'm sorry. I didn't want... people can be pretty blunt about the future here or be annoyingly tight-lipped. I just- I wanted you to hear it from someone that loves you."

He tightened his arms around her and squeezed his eyes shut. "How do I help you? Tell me what you need."
