Who: Dominique and Louis Weasley
When: Backdated to Louis' arrival
Where: Louis' flat
What: Dominique is welcoming her brother!
Ratings: Low!

It was still taking a lot of getting used to, but after drinks with his cousin and some solid hours of sleep, Louis wasn’t feeling as weirded out about being in a whole different place. A place he’d been brought to out of time, where there was no idea of how or why, or how long it would last. That was big picture stuff, too big for him to try and deal with. The family stuff, that was personal and harder. At least he had his sister there, even if she was younger than him for the first time in their lives.

He’d asked her to come to his apartment rather than him to hers, since she was living with their dad who didn’t even know he existed. That was too much to deal with first thing in the morning. So when the knock came on the door, he checked through the peephole first but then opened it to Dominique, his shoulders relaxing almost instantly at the sight of her.

Dominique bounced slightly on the balls of her feet as she waited for her brother to answer the door. Okay, maybe it was a bit odd that he was older than her now, but this was still Louis. It didn’t matter how old they were, things between them would always be as they had been before. So, she stood there waiting for him to answer the door and the aforementioned hangover potion tucked securely in her pocket.

“LOUS!” She said happily as soon as his face came into view as she threw her arms around him happily in a hug. Dominique was glad to see him! She hadn’t even talked to him since she left for Beauxbatons and him Hogwarts back in her own time. “Looking good in your old age,” she teased him as she released him and sauntered into his flat. “Still feeling odd about being here?”

“How could I not be?” Louis replied dryly, letting the door fall closed and walking along with her into the flat. She didn't look much different than the Dominique he was used to seeing, or maybe it was that he remembered a lot vividly from when she was that age. “I've not even had a whole day, you're a teenager, I'm living with our nineteen year old aunt, and papa has no idea who I am.”

Dominique had to laugh because it was not unlike how she felt arriving there to find their father didn’t know her, Lily Luna was older than her, and their grandmother wasn’t much older than she was. “You forgot to mention Lily Luna is now older than us both…” She teased lightly. “This place is vraiment fou…”

Still it was odd to see her brother older than her. “Enough about me though…” Louis would have his memories of her at this age and while she had a lot of questions, she did her best to control her curiosity about the future. “But you, a quidditch player? When did that happen?”

Louis’ brow furrowed, his hand coming up to rake back through his hair. “I played in school, you would know that, and then I went to Puddlemere right after.” It was something he enjoyed doing, but he was aware it wasn't any kind of brainy, smart occupation like so many of their relatives had. It was a game -- one he loved, and loved playing and was quite intense about, but still a game. “Kicked around on the reserves a bit but it's my second year as a starter.”

“Good for you,” she told her brother with a happy grin. Louis deserved to be happy and doing something he loved. Dominique only hoped her older self had more direction than she felt right now. At least being there had gotten her out of finally deciding on what she wanted to be when she grew up, because all her professors at Beauxbatons had been pestering her to finally make a decision. “If we can find some brooksticks, play with me. Been trying to get a league going but no one really has much interest.” Dominique didn’t play in school, but she was fair enough considering quidditch was a family past time. “You have no idea how glad I am you’re here though…” She added softly.

That last bit softened him as well, because he honestly didn't know how he would be able to deal with any of this if she wasn't there. It showed in his physicality, some of the tension he held dissipating. Louis reached over, pulling Dominique in for another hug, holding onto her tightly for longer than they had before. “Don't know what I’d do without you, you know?”

Dominique had to smile as she hugged her brother back. “Oh, you know… Fall to pieces and have a complete break down.” Not unlike how she felt when she arrived, but thankfully she had Hugo and Lily to prop her up. “So tell me this much, am I at least kind as awesome in the future as I am now?” She joked. “Oh and here…” She tossed him the small potion vial she had stored in her pocket.

Louis caught it out of the air, taking a look at it before popping the lid out and drinking it down. His hangover wasn't awful but it certainly wouldn't hurt to try and help it along. “I don't know if I'm supposed to tell you about your future,” he replied with a wry grin, flopping into a seat on the couch. “I live with Aunt Hermione, remember? Pretty sure she'd give me a talking to about that.”

Dominique rolled her eyes slightly. “When have we ever been a family to follow the rules?” She pointed out. None of them, except maybe Victoire, were known for it. “Not even a little clue? I am pretty lost here Louis… As you probably already know.”

“You're still as awesome as ever in the future,” Louis offered with a grin, saluting her with the empty vial. It was an answer as much as it wasn't one, and he shifted to settle back against the couch. “You're fine, Dom. In my time, your future, you're just fine.”

Dominique grinned at her brother. “So….” She flopped down onto one of the couches. “Alright, this is bloody boring. What do you want to do? I’d love to go flying but that’s slightly problematic here.” It was what they did when things were boring or unable to do much of anything. You know since the two of them going home was not an option. “You probably could teach me a few tricks.”

“There's -- I know we’re in some fucked up place, but the statute still a thing here?” Louis asked, his brow furrowing. With Dominique mentioning flying being problematic, he figured that was the case. It would have been his preference for something to do, though.

She shook her head. “Doesn’t seem so…” She told her brother with a shrug. “I’ve seen people do all sorts of things in public. Some of these people… Well, they can do things even we,” meaning them as people with magic, “Cannot!” It was really quite incredulous when she thought about it. “Doubt people would so much as blink twice to see people flying around on brooms…”

Louis raised an eyebrow, settling in next to his sister on the couch. “Then let’s fly around on brooms,” he said, shrugging a shoulder. “If we don’t have to worry about pissing off the Ministry, who’s going to stop us?”

Dominique had to admit Louis had a point and there was nothing there to stop them other than… “Well, we don’t have broomsticks?” She hadn’t arrived with anything but the clothes on her back (her school uniform) and her wand. “Unless you tell me you turned up with two then…” They would have to think of something else. Dominique wondered if they could charm something into something that would pass as broomstick.

“I have a broom.” Admittedly, it was only the one, but Louis wasn’t about to let that stop them. He scrubbed his hand over his face, thinking a moment. “You could probably charm it so it would carry the both of us.”

“That’d be easy enough,” Dominique told him. Charms had easily been her best subject in school, unlike some others such as Care of Magical Creatures. “It will at least let us get out for a while. What are we waiting for?”

“Nothing at all, Dom.” Louis grinned softly, giving her a wink and shoving up off the couch to go to his room and retrieve his broom, passing it absently from hand to hand as he came back to the common area and held it out in her direction. “Work your magic and let’s get the hell out of here.”

Louis didn’t need to tell her twice as Dominique happily pulled out her wand, glad to have an excuse to do a bit of magic. More of an excuse than she simply needed to practice so she didn’t forget. After a wave of her wand and a muttered incantation, they were good to go. “Alright, let’s get out of here.”

With the potion working its magic and Dominique working hers, they were set for the time being. Louis slipped into some shoes and tilted his head toward the door. “Let’s go.”
