Richie thanked El as she went off toward the kitchen, stuffing his hands back in his pockets. He knew Tony was going to say something to him, something he didn't want Eleven to hear, but he'd more expected some kind of admonishment for showing up without talking to an adult and making sure someone else would be there than an offer of support.
"Oh...thanks." he ran a hand through his hair, making it stand up a bit on one side. "Know where I could get new glasses?" he asked, knowing it wasn't really what Tony meant but it was something he needed sooner rather than later. "Thanks." he said again, then followed behind Tony toward the kitchen.
He took the time to take a slow breath and put the smile back on. It was clear El was doing her best and he didn't want her to think his mood had anything to do with her.
