WHO george and cisco
WHAT a date
WHEN sunday
WHERE outside the apartment complex to start
WARNINGS TBD
STATUS on going

He wasn't supposed to say yes. No, that wasn't right. George had wanted Cisco to say yes, he just hadn't expected him to say yes. Zero planning had gone into a date before the question had just sort of slipped out of him and then he found himself scrambling. Bill and Percy were utterly useless at suggestions and he had found himself attempting to look ideas up the muggle internet. There had been a mild distraction of cat videos, but he had managed to focus.

Now he found himself standing on the sidewalk outside the apartment complex as he stared at his phone. His mum was in a tizzy about something, but he would worry about that later. Right now he had to focus on not throwing his own heart up. Life in Goodland was like a runaway broom that he was stuck on and Cisco was someone who managed to steady him some. The bloke was witty, didn't mind sharing knowledge, and...well bloody Hell. George ran a hand over his lower face as he tried not to think about the fact he was crushing just a bit more than he realized. He shoved his phone into the pocket of his ripped bluejeans before making sure his voodoo doll was secure in the leather messenger bag he wore.

Bill had said do an activity where they could talk so George had settled on the zoo. Though, now that he was standing here he couldn't help wondering if he picked poorly. So when Cisco walked up what tumbled out of his mouth wasn't exactly a hello.

"I wanted to surprise you with the zoo and at night they have this light walk thing, but now I realize there will be large crowds and I-" George flushed and reached up to grip the necklace he wore for courage. "I mean hullo. Also, I thought you might like the zoo because it is interesting and lots of opportunities for photos, but if you want to do something else we can. Sorry."

He winced slightly at how crazy he must seem, that and he could feel his phone going off with notifications. He didn't actually have a huge urge to check said phone since he was paying attention to Cisco. Basically waiting to see if the other bloke was going to laugh in his face or not.

Of the twins Fred had always been better at this stuff. Plus George had just been happy to daydream about various blokes and birds.

Now he was going on a date and acting like an utter loon.

Cisco had all but given up dating as far as he was concerned. The very last thing he'd expected was to be asked by anyone. Since Dick had vanished, his confidence in the dating world had vanished with him. He hadn't even gotten to tell him how he felt, and that had stayed with the engineer for a while. But lately he found himself ready to move forward. He found his mind occupied with his friends and family, and more lately; George. He wanted to spend all his time with him and then some, but never knew the right words to say. He didn't realize what was happening until he said yes to a date. Someone actually wanted to be with him, and he wanted the same. He hadn't cared what they did lately, if it was with George he enjoyed it.

Part of him wanted to tell everyone, but the last time he told the world he lost them. This time he kept it close to his own heart as he got ready. He didn't tell a soul, not because he didn't want to but because he wanted it to go well. He didn't want to set them up for disaster.

Cisco didn't know how to dress, but George had asked him to lunch. He figured it wouldn't require a suit, so he stuck with a casual look. A red shirt he actually arrived in that read Han shot first and pair of black pants. He'd tied his dark hair back and slipped his phone and tablet into a bag that hung around his shoulder. He always had it with them, no matter where they went. That tablet was his link to the city if anything happened he could remotely coordinate with those in the field needing said coordination. He never left home without it, but it was tied to a smart watch on his wrist. He didn't need to check it every second of the date.

As he approached George and he was already rambling and worrying, Cisco remained steady and only watched him curiously for a moment and smiled. "I want to do whatever you have planned for us. I've...actually never physically been to a zoo." He reached down to cautiously and gently take his hand in his own in attempt to be soothing. "I'll be okay as long as you're here." If he needed to stabilize himself he could do that with George's help, as well as the glasses also tucked away in his bag.

George's rambling stopped on his lips as Cisco took his hand. He blinked for a second before lacing their fingers together. His phone was going crazy in his pocket and he swore faintly as he dug it out with his free hand. "Sorry, me mum is trying to get my attention. Give me a second and then I am all yours." He quickly sent a few messages to his mother before putting his phone on silence. He knew he was playing a dangerous game. If his mother really wanted his attention then she'd hunt him down or send a howler. Wait, no, this version of mum probably wasn't that intense. Right? He shoved the phone into his bag and flashed Cisco a nervous smile.

"My family... can be a wee bit overbearing, but, uh, enough about that. So zoo. I went to the zoo back in New York, but I have a feeling this will be different." He gave Cisco's hand a slight tug as he took off walking, not bothering to release the other bloke. His beat up Converse were near silent on the sidewalk with each step and he felt...happy. George wasn't faking the feeling today. Being around Cisco made him happy.

"I'm going to be honest, when I asked you... I didn't plan ahead," a laugh escaped him. "So my surprise was more of a flying by the seat of my pants. Luckily I'm as smart as I am gorgeous or this date would have been like watching paint dry." He flashed Cisco a cheeky grin. "And you are you sure you are okay with the zoo? They have penguins and educational shite. I know it is like, uh, Disney ...World?"

George had fallen into an internet trap of theme parks and such during the night as he planned for the date. DisneyWorld looked amazing, to be rather honest.

"But the zoo looked fun and I wanted to experience with you."

If he was honest he'd wanted to do that the other night when they went walking through the lights, but he wasn't sure it'd have been appropriate. He didn't know if George was interested in men or women or what. He was relieved when George had asked him out actually, pining wasn't fun. He'd done enough of that in one life time to know he didn't want to pine after anyone anymore. Cisco gave a bit of a laugh as he looked through his phone. "It's fine, is it an emergency?" Did she need him for something? He hoped not. He busied himself for a second with his own phone while George did just that, and then also tucked it back into the side mesh pocket of the sling bag he carried.

"Everything all right? How's that going anyway?" Must be intense having all the family around. Being around George managed to soothe his own nerves and calm his panic attacks lately, He didn't miss those. Even holding George's hand, maybe it was the magic but he didn't accidentally vibe him. There was no pain or worry there. He smiled at that little tug and kept up with him after.

"I'm good with it. I've never been to a place like this, or Disney World." He'd admitted with a little grin. "We didn't have money for stuff like that when I was a kid." And as an adult, he had anxiety to contend with, but George made him feel a little more confident. He wasn't one hundred percent sure he wouldn't get an attack of some kind, but he hoped if he did it wouldn't ruin things. "Maybe the Entity will take us to Disney World at some point." He commented as he looked around while they walked, and that comment made him laugh. "I've done that, I think I'd be okay with it though if I was looking at you." Oof, that was line. He quickly looked at some random trees near by pretending they were very interesting for half a minute

"Maybe when we go back we can do that one too, though if I'm honest I'll kind of miss this place."

"Yeah, I'm sure everything is fine. We are a dramatic lot," George assured him. The Weasleys were over the top, even when they were all from different points in time. Percy and him had already talked about how weird it was that mum was there, but wasn't how they remembered. She didn't have the memories, hadn't gone through the things they had, and it was almost painful at times to talk to her. Things had eased up a little bit some since Fred had arrived, but he still had moments where he wanted her to just give him a hug and tell him that everything was going to be okay.

"I keep waiting on the rest of my siblings to show up, but I'm worried," he admitted as they walked. "Fred...I mean he is here, and trying to reassure me all the time he isn't leaving again, but- I don't know. Ron would probably say some stupid shite and... I guess I'd say it is going well. I keep waiting to wake up and Fred just be gone." That was some bleak talk for a first date and suddenly he couldn't help thinking about the fact Percy said he had gone on two first dates since he hadn't realized the first one was a first date. His lips twitched with amusement and he couldn't help the laugh that escaped him.

"I asked my brothers for help and one of my brothers admitted he didn't even know he had been on a first date. I think my whole family is hopeless, except maybe Bill. And...we didn't exactly have lots of money growing up either. Mum and da did right by us and who needed theme parks when we could play with magic, right?"

George cast Cisco a sideways glance and grinned hard. "I'd gladly go to all the zoos with you." He glanced around them and breathed in for a second as if he was trying to actually breathe in the city. "I'll miss this place too. This place is eccentric and also the place of our first date. Clearly an important place. And I'm rambling again."

He squeezed Cisco's hand and then pointed out a sign for the zoo. "Look! I am not getting us lost!"

Cisco laughed at that and nodded. "Think all families are probably, I don't know. Thought it was just Latinos. Glad we aren't the only nutcases out there." It was a comforting thought. "I'm glad they're here." He had noticed a little change in George since they'd arrived, he seemed less distant at times. Cisco knew he'd been drinking before, especially during the thanksgiving shenanigans, but it didn't seem like he had been as much lately. Cisco himself wasn't a big drinker, he could drink socially, but that was about as far as it went usually minus the Gypsy incident-and frankly he'd learned his lesson. Getting that drunk with his powers? Not the world's funnest thing ever.

"Why worried? Because of this place in general or...Fred?" Fred wasn't going to hear anything from him on that end, Cisco prided himself on being a keeper of many secrets. An eye brow raised at the sudden laughter, but he was glad for it. He hadn't meant to let things turn depressing, but he wanted to know about him. "Really? None of them did? Look at you." He snickered at that and shook his head, amusement back in his own eyes. "How do you not know?" A laugh escaped him. He didn't quite understand that. He supposed it could be a little murky but usually people got asked on dates and knew they were dates.

"I've been on a few first dates, and I have to say this one by far is the most interesting, and we haven't even gotten there yet." He smirked a bit as they finally arrived. "I'm so proud." He teased with a laugh and watched him as he seemed to take everything in. "You're cute when you ramble." He enjoyed listening to him ramble. "Usually it's me rambling." And since they were about to enter a place of science and animals alike, George better prepare himself for some off the cuff scientific rambles.

He returned that squeeze with a laugh. "Dangerous words those. You've yet to hear my rambles. Think it's only fair we see our rambles match up too." He was happy, there was very little in the world that could get to him, even with all the people flooding past them trying to get in-he ignored them.

"We Weasleys are utterly batshit crazy, mate." His family was large and insane and that was how he liked it. George had warned Cisco already about his family, but it didn't hurt to warn again. "And I worry about the time they will come from? I mean Bill and Percy are from after... what if some of my family arrives from before- like me mum? It makes things complicated. Hey, welcome to Goodland, Fred dies-" He faltered faintly in his steps, but somehow managed to keep walking. The next moment he was laughing again as he shrugged.

"Percy is intelligent, but it is that book smarts, not that street smarts type of intelligence. Still surprised he managed to get a girlfriend. Was a right arse about it for a while, back when I was still a super git to him." Sometimes he wondered how his older brother even forgave him. The twins had been vicious at times with how they treated Percy, practicing pranks on him and such. Being in Goodland was a good chance for them all to start over again while they could. Cisco's words managed to bounce past his thoughts and his cheeks colored faintly. Cute. Cisco thought he was cute when he rambled. That thought actually made him smile.

That happiness took a hit when he spotted something zipping towards them. George's eyes went wide and he practically yanked Cisco away from the entrance and away from people. Shite, bad timing. Really bad fucking timing. They didn't have an invisibility cloak or anything so he had to pray that being in the shadows would protect them from prying eyes. The red envelope hovered in the air in front of George as his heart sank since he knew that could have only come from one person. Magic made the sodding thing act like it had a mouth and the next second his mum's voice was yelling at them both.

"GEORGE SEPTIMUS WEASLEY! HOW DARE YOU IGNORE ME WHEN I SAY SOMETHING IS IMPORTANT! I REMEMBER EVERYTHING. SO YOU BETTER GET YOUR ARSE BACK HERE SO I CAN PROPERLY HUG YOU!"

He could only watch in horror as the howler proceeded to consume itself before vanishing in a burst of fire. Bits of paper and ash fell towards the ground as he stood there gripping Cisco's hand tightly. His mother remembered everything. He tried to say something and the words got caught in his throat for a moment. Right, no, he had to handle this. George moved quickly, he yanked his voodoo doll free from his bag and shoved it towards Cisco. "Keep this as collateral. I need to go see me mum real quick, but I swear I will be back. If I am not back in like ten you can strangle the doll." Then George did the most insane thing he could think of. He yanked Cisco forward for a kiss and after a moment into the kiss apparated without a second thought to see his mother.

"I guess all you can do about that is be there for him if someone does say something stupid. You can't control them, but you can control your own reaction." Barry had told him that on a few occasions, it took a while to sink in. When George faltered, he felt it and it was his turn to stop in his tracks for a second. His hand gripped George's a little more tighter than before for a second before he realized what was happening. A little color had faded from his face as he stood there and stared into space for what felt like an eternity to him, but was probably only a few seconds to an onlooker. He could see inside of Hogwarts, and normally it'd be exciting, but this felt heavy. It felt awful, like something heavy had landed on him. Like he'd been crushed by the castle itself. He glanced over at George as the moment faded from his mind and he was laughing again. It'd broken the vibe too, and he was glad for that. He'd only seen a glimpse of the pain George must of felt, but it just made him want to stick closer to him.

The way George rambled on about his family was endearing to him. Even as sorted as things were with them, he obviously still loved them They seemed solid as a unit, and it gave Cisco a chance to take a breath. Regain his bearings. He didn't have much time to do that however, a second later George was yanking him someplace and his feet practically stumbled "What the?" A small red letter was yelling at them. Cisco could only stare. It was like something out of his own dreams of once being accepted to Hogwarts. Yeah, kid him often used to dream about it.

Cisco covered his face for a second as if to hide from the howler and took a step back from it. Yikes. He couldn't get a word in even if he wanted to say something more. That was completely terrifying. He could barely think to respond as his brain was still scrambly, George was putting stuff in his arms and then he was being kissed. It all happened so fast he barely had time to respond to it. He hoped he managed to convey that he wanted to respond, but he wasn't sure. He could only stare after all that.

It did do wonders for that awful clammy brain feeling though, as George disappeared, Cisco was left standing with an arm full of doll and a world of confusion in his brain. It caused a simple smile to appear. George Weasley, who'd have thought? He gave a little laugh as he looked down at the tiny voodoo doll in his arms and touched it's hair with amusement. George had kissed him, he really wanted to do more of that.

It was probably a little more than ten minutes, but George did apparate back to the same spot. His face was flushed and it was clear he had been crying, but the second he saw Cisco he managed a slight smile. His emotions were all over the place. Mum remembered everything while still being in her young body, which was super confusing, but she remembered. The hug had been intense, the conversation as well. How could it not have? His mother knew why his soul was frayed now.

"Sorry about that," he reached up and pushed his hair back as he tried to get his heart to stop the random beating it was doing. It felt like a bludger was trying to escape his ribcage and it was kind of painful.

"So me mum got like a memory upgrade and she was trying to tell me earlier while I was blowing her off. In my defense I was attempting to go on a date with you... but yeah." He waved his hands in the air as he talked, animated and clearly going on adrenaline. Then, as if time froze, George stopped and stared at Cisco. Color started to creep up his cheeks as the fact he had snogged the other bloke and then run off finally caught up in his brain.

"Oh shite," he breathed out. He grabbed Cisco by the shoulders as he made a slight face. "I am bloody sorry, mate. I didn't even know if you wanted- and I just- and you must think me such a git-" The words were rushing out of him at a rapid pace. "You must think I am a huge arse."

Things had just happened so quickly and George had panicked at that moment. He didn't regret the kiss. No, he regretted just vanishing like that, but family was extremely important to him. After Fred had died he somehow both surrounded himself with family and avoided them at the same time. He clung to his brothers and sister at random times, but had been known to just vanish at the drop of a card. "Did you still want to go on the date? I mean I do, if you do." Right, focus on the moment, focus on not being a giant arse.

Cisco hadn't even thought twice about strangling that little doll in his arms. Though to anyone who might have caught a glimpse it probably looked a bit odd, a grown man hugging a doll by himself at the zoo. And on the same coin, he hadn't really cared. George had kissed him. The rest of the world didn't matter. He couldn't stop smiling even if he did look a bit psychopathic. Finally a voice broke through his fog of thoughts and he looked up to see George and stood from the brick wall he'd found to sit on. George was rambling. Usually that was his job, but he was just enjoying the day with him. Taking it all in. " Are you okay?" He asked when he finally managed to catch up to the rambling words of the other.

"I've never been yelled at like that." He laughed a minute later, obviously not all that put off. If he had been he could have left too. As George grabbed him, he could only smile. He thought about words, but instead leaned in to kiss him this time. Silencing his rambling for a minute.

"Answer your question?" He asked as he pulled away and offered a hand. He still very much wanted to go on the date, if George was okay anyway. "Do you?"

The second kiss cut off all other rambling and when it ended he could only smile. George nodded since he wasn't sure his voice wouldn't do something if he spoke again. He grabbed the offered hand, lacing their fingers together again and once again tugged Cisco along.

"Oh," he glanced at the voodoo doll Cisco was still holding and he laughed. "Uh, do you want to give that back or are you going to take pictures of it enjoying the zoo?" Actually, that was an amusing idea. Taking pictures of his doll in front of various things and texting them to his family was something he fully planned on doing another time. Now though? He was going to focus on his date. "And, uh, to answer several questions I missed. I'm fine, yes that answered my question, and yes."

He paid the admission for both of them and once they finally got inside the zoo he paused for a moment. George wasn't sure where to head to first. His attention shifted to a stand of what appeared to be brochures and he veered off right towards the shiny papers. Using his free hand he grabbed one up as he smiled smugly.

"Perfect, a map! Now we can wander and also plan shite out. What do you want to see first?" He glanced towards Cisco and smiled. "And before we leave I want to buy gifts for my family."

The zoo was busy, but holding George's hand grounded him. Gave him something else to focus on rather than just the rush of bodies all around them. It was a weekend near Christmas of course, people were out with their families. Groups were there on tours, Cisco watched as a group flooded past them a short distance away but managed to squeeze that hand instead of getting an attack. "I may already be a step ahead of you." He'd taken a picture with that little doll in front of the entrance and sent it to George's phone earlier when he vanished. "I kind of like the idea of taking pictures of it." He grinned at the possibilities. Who knew what New Orleans zoo had to offer, but from what he'd seen online there were plenty of sculptures and real animals to take pictures of with it.

He kept up with George easily enough as he was tugged with him. "Or with it." He pulled the slightly younger man closer when they got to the entrance and used his free hand to fish for his phone to take a selfie of the two of them with the little voodoo doll he'd stuck on his shoulder for a second before slipping the phone back into his pocket and grinning. "I want to see the lights, I was looking at the website for a little bit on my phone and it said they turn on soon." The lights were everywhere though, so they could see animals and lights.

Watching George pay for admission, he'd remember and treat him to something later. A dessert maybe. "Hm...I like the otters. Vicious but adorable." He grinned. "What do you want to see?" He wanted to know what kind of animals he liked. He was no zoologist but he knew a bit about animal behavior. "I took a few animal science classes in college for fun." This was a perfect idea. "Half the fun is looking at the shops too. I may snag some things for some friends also."

George had to pause and think about what he wanted to see. "Obviously I need to see the lions," he said with a snicker. That was a stereotypical comment from a Gryffindor. "But, to be honest? I wouldn't mind seeing the penguins. They are always so dapper. Just need themselves some tiny bowties." His lips turned up into one of his trademark smirks as he joked about the penguins. He really did want to see them, but not because they were dapper. The wizard just liked them. They weren't magical and didn't have some strange tricks to survive. Yet, somehow, they just beat the odds over and over.

"I...can honestly say I haven't been to college. Muggle thing, right? Gotta say," he got distracted by something else interesting and pulled Cisco along. George had an attention span that was all over the place and a zoo was a perfect place for his attention to go wild. "Never did enjoy sitting still in classes. Shite student most of the time." His tone was distracted as he studied a mosaic of some jungle scene. The colors were vibrant and the details were fascinating. He leaned closer and his fingers over a section of the wall.

"Bloody brilliant. It is impressive someone had the patience to create this without magic. Even me mum uses magic for a lot of her projects. Though I guess in her defense, she did have a brood of hellions to deal with." George suddenly blinked before slowly turning to glance at Cisco. He gave the older bloke a sheepish look as he took a dramatic step back from the wall.

"Sorry, mate. I'm like a magpie, the shiny calls to me. Haven't quite resorted to stealing things for my horde."

A smirk crept into his lips. "Obviously." Who could bypass that? "Hah. Well then penguins first? Looks like it's first up and then the Otters are over here." He traced a finger on the map toward where they went. He didn't mind which first, it wasn't much difference to him. They'd get to see animals, he'd get to ramble science. It was a win win. He gave George's hand a tug. "Well then lets not keep the fancy penguins waiting." He said with a laugh. This was the happiest he'd been in a while. It was nice, but part of him was a little wary, did he let himself be happy? What happened if the Entity decided to take George away too?...Nope, he wasn't going there. They were in a downright magical place with animals and a literal wizard. He was just going to enjoy the moment. Thankfully a minute later it was him being pulled along again and his thoughts broke.

He enjoyed watching how excitable he was. It damn near melted his heart. He was fun to be around, Cisco needed that. He was so cautious in comparison lately. While George was distracted leaning over and peering in at some critter or another, Cisco snapped a quick picture of him. Cameo shots were his favorite, in fact little did George know one of his drones was high up in the sky likely also capturing a few stills of the day. "Yep, muggle thing. It's not for everyone. There are brilliant people who never finished high school." Cisco said with a shrug. "Benjamin Franklin one of the founding father of America never did. Dropped out at ten." For some people it worked. "You've got a successful business too I'd say it worked out in the end." Cisco loved going there.

A laugh escaped him as he watched him experience everything. "It is really, everything built here means something. Zoo's are their own eco systems for the animals they inhabit. Everything in them is thought out for the animals. I've..always wanted to come actually." He grinned as he looked up at the scene George was looking at. "And some of them are just damn pretty." Whether or not he was talking about the mosaic or the man with them was left up to interpretation. "I would use magic too if I had it." He smirked a bit, on occasion he still found himself playing with that trick wand he'd been given when kid him was lurking around.

"You lead, I'll follow." He had no particular order in which he wanted to see everything in. He just wanted to experience it with him.

"Mum wanted us to go into the Ministry, but we didn't," he remarked easily. There was a faint hitch in his voice, but not as pronounced as it had been. The arrival of Fred had helped smooth out some of the frayings on the edge of his soul. "Glad to know we are in good company for being brilliant without finishing school."

The zoo was amazing, but it was amplified by the company. Bill had been right, something he wasn't going to admit to his brother, an activity where they could talk was a brill idea. George yanked his hair back into a messy bun, not caring his damaged ear and spell scar was on display in this public place. People would probably do a double-take if they bothered to look. That was human nature really. He wasn't ashamed of the injury, nor would he ever be. He had earned it protecting Harry.

"Dangerous words," he flashed Cisco a devious grin. "I may lead you into chaos and mischief. Oh! Look," attention snagged again as he rushed over to a sign and pointed up to it in a near comical way. "We can find out weight out in bugs! I wonder how many ants I weigh, mate. Let's go to the bug room."

George was like a kid in a candy store at this point. There was a certain high from having fun with a person he had a crush on.

"They may have to kick us out of here. I want to see everything with you! Oh, but we can't forget the lights."

Cisco had just as much fun watching George as he did the animals. His energy was contagious in the best way. He hadn't had a depressing thought or downward spiral the entire time there. It was nice not to have his head all muddied up with bad things. George made him smile. More so than he had the past few months since Dick left. 'Yep! It's optional for muggles at least too." Muggles. He could use muggle in a sentence and George would actually understand him better. There was a part of him that was giddy as hell to be able to use all the wizard terms he'd gleaned from reading the stories and talking to Hannah and Remus.

He didn't mind George's scars at all, they were a part of him. He didn't stare or look concerned too long like some might, Cisco had his own flaws. A few physical were nothing to gawk at. Acknowledge, but not make awkward. He wasn't turned off at all. "Bet the Ministry is kind of amazing to see though." He'd love to see George's world. "Hannah and Remus told me some things. I wish I could see them." Maybe one day the Entity would bring them there. He really wanted to try riding a broom.

"Oh the horror. See me, fighting mischief." He responded sarcastically with a smirk. Mischief with Weasleys was something he'd only ever dreamt of. "Just don't get us thrown in jail and lead away." He amused as George found the bugs and Cisco laughed. "That's weird, but what the hell." He laughed as he followed him in. "Everything huh, want to pet things or feed things?" He was pretty sure he could arrange that for next time..

Cisco curiously examined a large spider behind glass. "Yeah stay on that side of the glass, friend." He told it as it jumped at said glass and he backed up nearly into the wizard.

Inside that habitat there were lights that suddenly turned on above them, fairy lights that had been strung for decoration and he looked up in awe. It made it feel very Christmasy, and finally he could say he was in the spirit a bit. "This was a great idea. "

"Uh, both," George answered without a second thought. Feeding and petting the animals were both on his list of things to do. "Also, jail might be fun." That was of course teasing, for the most part. The wizard had no real desire to get in trouble with the law, despite the story he would get out of it that he could share with Fred. There was a momentary pause where he wondered what his twin was doing in this place. Was Fred getting into mischief on his own? Was he clinging to family like George had?

Those thoughts were shoved aside as Cisco nearly backed into him. His hands came up and he promptly reached out to steady the older bloke. Right, spiders and Cisco did not seem to mix. His lips quirked into a smile just before the lights turned on. George let his gaze travel upwards towards the fairy lights. Thoughts of Fred, family, and other things vanished for a moment and without thinking he hugged Cisco from behind.

There was a sense of peace in this moment. The wounds on his soul were still there, but they were not digging quite as deep now. The arrival of Fred had clearly done a lot to help, but just being around Cisco was helping as well. Cisco didn't expect things of him, didn't look at him with pity or hurt, and he had his own issues.

They were just two blokes that somehow fancied each other.

"It's magical," his tone was amused and slightly awed. Muggles really could make such interesting things. "What a sight. Alright, mate, lights are on and you said you wanted to see the otters."

"Jail is the opposite of fun." He gave a laugh though either way, Cisco wasn't interested in bailing either of them out. Meddling with police records wasn't something he was fond of. Sure he'd done it in the past, but he wasn't interested if he could help it. It felt icky. They were supposed to be on the same side,he avoided it as much as possible.

Cisco was very much not a fan of spiders or bee's. He stayed on the opposite side of the wall full of bee's as far away as he could possibly get really. He had nearly died from one once, something like that left a scar. But then George's arms were around him as the lights turned n and any kind of spider or bee fear was pushed aside. He felt safe there with him, and wanted as an added bonus. "There's something else I want to do too, but maybe not in front of a bug house." He mused as his hand rested on one of the arms around him for a moment. He took one of those hands after looking at the lights for a few moments and reluctantly pulled away. "Come on.' As pretty as they were he wanted to get out of the bug exhibit now.

Eventually they'd reached a path where there was a trail that lead down to the otters. It was covered by exotic plants and things that lit up with different lanterns and fairy lights. He stopped to face him and pulled him in. This time he initiated a kiss, something soft at first, but then a little more heat a moment later. This was what he'd wanted to do not surrounded in bugs.

George was happy to let himself be led wherever Cisco was taking him. The zoo around them was lit up and it made the exhibits seem new. His attention wandered to everything around them as they walked. The warmth between their hands was a comfort and distraction at the same time.

"Hey, what type of plan-" George's question about the plants died on his lips as they stopped. Before he could ask why the sudden stop he found himself being kissed. He grinned into the kiss for a moment before returning the favor. A slightly surprised sound escaped him when the kiss turned a little more heated, but he didn't pull back from that kiss. No, he enjoyed every moment of the snog as he matched the enthusiasm with his own. His fingers ended up twisted in the front of Cisco's shirt, tugging at the fabric.

George finally pulled back with a dazed grin on his face.

Snogging in a zoo was now on his list of things he was a fan of in his life.

"Sooooo was this what you wanted to do because I am fan. Bloody big fan." George pulled him in for another snog as he laughed. Merlin, this was not how he thought his life was going to go. Things had changed, started transforming even, the second he arrived in Goodland. Cisco had helped shove happiness back into his life. Hugo and the others had helped as well, as did the arrival of his twin, but he most certainly did not want to snog any of them.

"What about the otters," he said as he pulled away again. "Didn't you want to see them?"

Who the hell knew? Well maybe Cisco would know about the plants, but the better question was, who cared then. All he cared about was kissing the man he was wit. Just not at the bug house where half the things creeped him out there. That wouldn't be very romantic at all. This was much better, lights, ambiance. A little bit of everything going for them, as if the lights were strung up for them specifically.

His hand rested on George's waist for a minute as he gripped the fabric there slightly and let that kiss linger for a moment. "This was exactly what I wanted to do." He returned the next one "Just you know, not as much around the bugs." He grinned when it broke and took his hand.

"Now we can go see the otters." He laughed and looked down at the little map, directing them toward the adorable little critters.
