Who: John Constantine and Enzo St. John
Where: A bar off the beaten track in New Orleans
When: Dec 8th
What: John and Enzo go for a pint - again.
Status: In progress
Warnings: Drinking, language, probably spoilers for TVD and Constantine

Getting to know Enzo the other night had been quite an experience, as far as John could remember. He'd rarely met anyone that could drink him so soundly under the table but he had to give the guy props, he could definitely hold his drink. Turned out he was British too, which John hadn't expected. Enzo had turned out to be a nice surprise in many ways, though their initial meeting had been a strange mix of awkwardness and verbal dueling. He was looking forward to hanging out with his new drinking buddy again, and texted him to say as much. New Orleans was far too good an excuse to miss.

"There you are," John greeted his new friend as he lounged against the wall in the lobby. "Was starting to consider what magics I could cast on the ostriches, so you arrived just in time," he said with a grin. "I found a place that claims to be a traditional Irish bar, which means everthing'll be painted green, including the Guinness, but it'll be better than the usual American beer. Sound like a plan?" he asked Enzo as he launched himself towards the doors.

The first time Enzo went out for a drink with John, it hadn't been so bad. so far, he didn't find the guy to be a threat at all. And really that was what their first meeting was about. It was about figuring out if the guy was a friend or foe. And so far, he seemed like one of the good guys. This is why when Enzo got a text, he agreed to head out for round two. Why not? It was kind of entertaining watch John get drunk off of his ass while Enzo barely had a buzz.

Enzo left a note for Bonnie and then headed down to the lobby. He could have been there in a second, but he decided to make his way down in a normal amount of time. He didn't want to give himself away just yet. "Here I am," he said once he made it into the lobby. "If I were you, I'd probably leave them alone." He had a feeling the Entity would get pissed if they messed with the creatures.

"Sounds like a plan," he said as he followed John out of the apartment building. "Lead the way." He had no idea where the place was, so he would have to follow John.

"You're not me, though, are you?" John answered with a smirk of entertainment. "Never met a god or demon that didn't make me want to fuck with them - just a little bit," he told Enzo with more than a little pride.

He gave a nod of satisfaction and headed out the doors, "so how's your day been so far? Can't tell a lie, the other night's a little blurry, but it was fun. Didn't expect the first person I bumped into would be another Brit living abroad, it was a pleasant surprise," John said as he led the way towards the bar in question. "Here we go, mate," he said as he pushed open the doors and was delighted to be greeted with what looked like... well... a pub. Not a shamrock in sight and beer on tap, which gave off all the right vibes. "Who knew, eh?" he said looking at Enzo in amusement. "Pint, or are we heading straight to the shorts tonight?" he asked as he went towards the bar to order.

"Well, fuck with him on your own time. I don't need it getting angry with me or anyone close to me." He did not want to piss off the entity to the point where he might get sent back home. He didn't want to go home not when he knew he was just going to get murdered again. And he didn't want Bonnie getting sent home to a life where he's no longer around. So, for now, until he learned the rules of this place, he'd rather play it safe.

"It's been fine." Nothing interesting happened. He had spent some time with Bonnie and he had been reading over the network. Trying to see if he could get any clues about Goodland. "Am I going to have to carry you home again?" he asked with a slight smirk and a glance John's way. "Surprise."

When they entered the bar he was actually surprised it wasn't decorated in every cliched Irish thing. It actually looked pretty normal. "I was expecting the worse," he admitted. "Straight to the bourbon." A huge smile crossed his lips. He had a feeling tonight was going to end like the other night. This was going to be an entertaining night.

John gave a small shrug and answered, "you didn't strike me as the kind of bloke to bow to the whims of anyone," he said with a grin, "which suggests it's the 'anyone close to me' part that you're more concerned about. What are we talking, here?" John wasn't about to let Enzo off the hook, particularly when they were just getting to know one another. "You have kids here? Or what?"

He had to chuckle at Enzo's comment and he cocked his head. "I'd say it's highly possible, if you hold your drink as well as you did the other night. Besides, it's better than risking the night-bus," John told him with a grin. If he were honest, Enzo's ability to drink was almost preternatural but he wasn't complaining. A drinking buddy that would get him home safely was a keeper.

"Expecting the worst for sure. And some," John agreed as they headed to the bar. He'd seen far too many American 'Irish-themed' bars to expect anything but the worst. "Bourbon it is," he said with a shake of his head and a small smirk Enzo's way. "If I didn't know better, I'd think you prefered me when I was out cold," he said as he ordered a bottle they could drain at their leisure.

"My girlfriend is here," he told John. "Along with some other people from back home." Did he really think he would be sharing any of that tonight, no, but now it was out there. "Do you have anyone here?" From what he read on the network it seemed like some people had people from home here with them and some were stuck in this place alone. He couldn't imagine being stuck here without Bonnie.

"I should just watch you and see where you end up," he half-joked. On one hand, it would be entertaining, but on the other hand, something bad could happen and he really didn't want to have to save anybody tonight.

"You talked less," he joke while flashing John a quick smile. Once the bottle was placed on the bar, he grabbed it and then led the way to a table for them to sit at.

He raised an eyebrow at Enzo's admission and gave him a more understanding look. "So you don't want it giving you special treatment in case it comes back to haunt you and your people. Got it." John had a sense there was more to that than met the eye, but it was a measure of their budding friendship that Enzo had told him that much. "I don't have that problem," he answered with a shrug. "Lots of people from my world, but my friends are at home where they belong." He didn't go on to mention that friends were pretty thin on the ground even at home.

"Sadistic bastard," he replied with a laugh. "Any bloke that'd shove a guy on the night bus, just to see what happens, has the right to call himself 'friend'," John said with a grin. You had to get your entertainment where you found it, but would he want to be the one on the bus? Not really, so he might have to rein back on the drinking.

John gave a shake of his head and grinned, "aye, that is true. Be honest, it's the in-between phase you enjoy the most when I'm just talking bollocks," he replied as he followed Enzo to the table.
