Pepper had been through and seen a lot since Tony became Iron Man. Kidnapped. Almost killed. Became a super...something. Skipping time and dimensions didn't even come near the top of the worst things that's happened, but it was still disconcerting. In her opinion, those Accords and what they did to friendships was the worst, but that subject was a little taboo.

She'd gotten a Super Uber pick-up by Carol Danvers...who after talking to she came to the conclusion that she really liked the woman...and taken to a building that she had never seen before. That was saying something since Pepper had been in New York often enough to know every high-rise by sight. She vaguely remembered being told what apartment number to go to as she was dropped off. The elevator ride didn't even register in her mind. Her consciousness caught up with her as she stood in front of the door. What if he wasn't in there? What if it was some kind of trick by one of their many enemies? Loki, for instance. Pepper felt her heart thud in her chest before she took a deep breath then reached out to knock on the door.

Tony breathed easier with Pepper close to him. Her presence calmed him even if only for a bit; in their reality, she was a much needed reminder that he had someone on his side and something worth living for. "Give me some credit," he teased. "The entity has provided all the tools I need. We are nearly ready to go. Staff has been helping me. I can get you a list."

He rolled his eyes over JARVIS vs. FRIDAY. "You know I can't use JARVIS again," he said. He remained quiet for a moment. "Wanda told me about what happened to Vision while I was in space." The reminder hurt. Vision wasn't just A.I. to Tony. Heck, DUM-E was practically his first kid. "Pepper..." He started to ask what happened when he returned from space...how he returned from space, but, again, thought better of it. "You know, we have the apartment to ourselves, but for who knows how long?" He planted a gentle kiss against her lips. "Let me show you our bedroom?"

And there was another button. Pepper could practically feel him holding back the flood of questions he wanted to ask. It would happen eventually. Tony needed to know things. Sometimes it was to satisfy his endless curiosity. Sometimes it was for his own good. Either way the time would come, and she would be there.

This time her chuckle was a little more throaty and suggestive. "Is that so?" She returned his kiss with one that lingered a little longer. "Think you're up for it?"

	"You've met me, yes?" He teased before cupping her face in both hands. "C'mon, it feels like an eternity since I've been near you, sweetheart." 	Pepper laughed as she took his hand needlessly to get up from the couch. She put herself right up against him, guiding his arm around her before letting her knees go so he'd have to catch her or let her drop on her butt. "My hero." (Reply to this) (Parent)
