"With the right application," Severus replied evenly, studying the other man carefully.
Like anyone exposed to a certain amount of power, there was cause for concern. Too much enjoyment of one's power led to creating another Dark Lord and as far as he was concerned, there had been quite enough of that. While he hardly believed Winchester had it in him to enslave the muggles and murder hundreds of people, he still knew that were certain aspects of Winchester's personality to surface, namely the ones concerning Satan were liable to have negative consequences far beyond any mental breakdown.
"In order to do so, you would need to train yourself - body, mind, and soul and at the moment, I highly doubt you have the capacity to focus on it. Your mind is not weak, but it is weakened and attempting to do so now could potentially put you in a state far worse than the one you happen to be in now."
Quite frankly, Severus wasn't certain he had the patience. Wells required every shred of it and while he respected Winchester enough that he didn't have the urge to insult him at every turn, he was still skeptical in regard to the other man's strength of determination. Words were worth absolutely nothing and while his actions were impressive, everything was subject to change.
"And? Evidently, you're quite capable of it, though still a novice at best. If you think this is about to get any easier, you're sorely mistaken."
