WHO: Andrew Wells & Cas WHEN: Monday night WHERE: NYC streets WHAT: Typical patrol duties/talking as friends do. WARNINGS: Nah. Unless getting rid of a wraith is a warning.
Despite the fact that Cas was not about to trivialize what was currently happening in the city in regard to Nanette Don, he did not feel the patrols were anything more than a means of keeping oneself focused. They were a means of getting the others ready for what could possibly come next. Something to let them either learn or hone their skills over, though...where the daedra were concerned, he wasn't certain killing various supernatural threats could even add up in comparison, but it was the best that could be offered for the time being. If asked, he would have admitted that a part of him was looking forward to some confrontation, however he'd hoped it would not be against the people who had assisted them in the past. To him, that felt wrong.
Yet sharing any of that with Andrew was out of the question. Primarily because he wished to keep the former Watcher focused and secondarily because he rarely understood any of the references Andrew made. He understood the other Anna's fondness for him, of course. Andrew was very brave. Very loyal. To patrol with him was to know that very little would go wrong if the magic was taken into consideration, yet Cas was still somewhat agitated as he pressed his back against the nearest alley wall and peeked around the corner to make certain nothing was waiting for them before proceeding. They'd circled at least three different blocks thus far and had yet to find anything, so his agitation was likely due to having not found anything or the fact that he'd not smoked in several days. Apparently his vessel was used to the intake of poison and missed it dearly. It was a definite inconvenience.
"Something's wrong," he said finally, half-growling. "If the activity's escalated, we should have found something by now. This is somewhat disconcerting."
The rational part of his mind that retained most of his angelic reasoning reminded him it was likely due to missing either nicotine or his usual partner, though he chose to ignore that in favour of complaint. It was a human action, but one he knew better than to fight. "While it's possible that whatever was causing the EMF to react here earlier today simply moved, it would need a good reason."
More complaints and potential dialogue that should have been internal, though those he was unaware of. Thinking back on it, he would likely regret it. Especially since he was aware of whom Andrew received most of his teaching from. "Wraiths tend to stay where they can find ample sustenance."
