Cas shot her a faint smile of his own, a calloused thumb playing over her fingers. "That would likely only work in your favour," he pointed out. "While I appreciate each and every conversation we have, I don't wish to be the only being you converse with. You...deserve more than that. You may not be lonely, though it is something I never wish you to be."
He was aware that he was protective of her and likely at times overbearing. It was not intentional, but it was difficult not to be. He'd never had a companion before, much less one that loved him in return. Yet that did not mean he wished to keep her away from others. If something were to happen to him, then he wished for Anna to have people she could seek support from. Though he had no intention of going anywhere, Daryl's sudden absence was a reminder that there was still loss to be had.
Choosing to ignore Abra until it was time to actually eat, he shook his head. The psychic fox didn't seem to appreciate this and Cas felt the whip of a tail against his shin, but he'd since grown used to the feeling. "I've been comprising a list," he explained. "Seeing as the patrols now have several people involved, it only makes sense to organize them. As of right now, I'm paired with Andrew, though that is subject to change. In regard to battle plans, your advice would be appreciated."
He leaned in and pressed his forehead to hers. "I know I can," he replied. "Since I arrived here, you are the only person I still share everything with. You...bring me comfort. As well as strength. I only hope I can provide you with the same."
