Anna hesitated for a moment. "No, if we do try to find somewhere else, then it needs to be soon. I don't think you're wrong about the lyrium, it's really unlikely that it's never ending. We need a back-up plan beyond just cowering in the remaining light."
Which was again something that they should probably discuss with everyone else at some point. Anna tightened her hand around his. She put the rest of the cookie in her mouth and chewed and swallowed it before reaching out to take his other hand in hers.
And if it turns out that Glory's lost interest in us because of losing Buffy then that's all the better for us, since we have bigger problems right now than a pagan nut job." She shook her head now. "Not that losing Buffy is a good thing," Anna said quickly. She actually found she missed Buffy something terrible some days. There'd always been a sort of light-hearted feeling about Buffy that you just didn't get around hunters. At least not the hunters Anna knew.
"I don't think you could say too much, Cas," Anna said. He probably couldn't say anything that wasn't already going through her mind. She bit down on her lip.
"I'm sorry I can't. . .help more than I am. I don't like sitting back and letting everyone else have to deal with everything." She was fine with the research or whatever else needed to be done in the city. But she didn't like letting him go out alone. Which she realized was stupid, because he was capable of handling himself. "I would much rather be out helping you." Anna paused for a moment, smiling a little in a way that felt self-deprecating. "I'm discovering that I actually miss hunting."
