Anna frowned now. "I'm not sure another challenger would be better for us anyway," she said. "I mean, we don't know what kind of damage that would do if a pair of god-like beings decide to throw down." She bit down on her lip, looking down at Abra as she did. He'd apparently had enough cookies, if the soft snoring sounds were any indication. "And no, if it's a threat, then we need to close it down."
She smiled now. "I know that, Cas." She hesitated for a moment. "I think it might be the idea of having to go against Zudeh," she said. "or the feeling of having to use Zudeh's faith or worse shatter it." She raised an eyebrow at him now. "It might hit a little close to home."
She hadn't had anyone push her when she'd chosen to fall. She'd made the decision without the fate of the world hanging in the balance. It was sort of the same thing here. "Of course, I could be wrong," Anna said suddenly. Because maybe she was and there was something else there. She wasn't sure. She just knew that maybe it was that they'd sort of already been through this scenario before. She was somewhat grateful to the whatever it was for that. She'd been snatched away at the start of the apocalypse. She hadn't had to watch the train wreck that followed it.
"No," Anna said now. "No, I agree with you on that. To protect you or the baby, it's. . .different. And I don't want her to be trapped in a world where there's this." She paused. "I could handle the uncertainty of whatever it is that's snatched us. But this particular world feels more dangerous. I don't know." She bit down on her lip as she thought about it. "Well, we shouldn't have to," she said after a moment. "We should honestly tell everyone what's happening and why and see if there are other methods. I mean, even if we have to rely on magic to close it down. . .we'll need help. Firepower possibly. We don't KNOW how they daedra will respond." She paused. "Besides, on the list of people who have experience closing portals, I think Steve's team has the market cornered there."
She meant it as a joke. Because there was the Devil's Gate and the Hellmouth, but. . .still, actual portals to other worlds?
