Anna took the bag and moved over to lean against the refrigerator as he went to finish cleaning up. She set the bag down on the counter behind her and tore into the green box. She grinned slightly at Abra as he popped down to hug her knees. She opened the bag and broke the first cookie in half, handing part to him and part to Squirtle. Squirtle wouldn't eat it, in fact he was looking at Anna as if she'd just betrayed his tiny trust, but she felt like Abra shouldn't start to think he should be given things Squirtle wasn't. After a moment, Anna held her hand down for Squirtle to put it back into her hand.
She popped the cookie into her mouth, shaking her head in response to Cas's inquiry. "I haven't," she said. "Beyond Sam telling me the books are in the Library, I've not heard anything." Which was worrying if she thought about it too much. It shouldn't TAKE Anna that long to find something out. Although that might have just been the world they were in and nothing to do with what might or might not be happening.
She broke another cookie in half and gave the other half to Abra, who was looking at her expectantly. This wasn't exactly what she'd planned, but he wasn't TAKING the cookie from her, so she figured it counted as a win.
"Honestly, I feel like maybe we should have by now, but. . .I don't know what kind of magic this. . .Don person has," she said after a moment. "I mean, where we come from, necromancers aren't any better than witches. That doesn't mean they aren't more powerful here. She or he might be able to hide themselves better than we can imagine."
Something hexbags and enochian spells. Which made Anna wonder what kind of hoodoo must be required. She knew there had been human remains found, but that didn't mean. . .
