"It is," Meredith agreed brightly. "It sounds like you've been doing everything right so far. We'll just keep a close eye on you and run all the routine tests, so your due date will be here before you know it. Do you have any questions you'd like to ask me before I run any routine tests?"
The doctor's smile was positive reinforcement. Cas knew that and he knew that while all of Anna's concerns were not quelled, he was doing his best. He placed an arm around her and rested his cheek on her head. Finding words had suddenly become difficult, but there was nothing he needed to ask. His Grace was weak, but still he could feel the small, but very powerful soul growing within her.
It was frightful - that fact was impossible to deny. He had doubts - as to whether or not the child would be human or even that the child would like him. He or she would appreciate Anna regardless - to most children, the mother was the one they defaulted to and he'd observed that a number of times. But as to whether or not he would be as good a father as Anna insisted, that remained to be seen. When and how to be harsh and when to be gentle...those were things he wasn't about to take into consideration just yet. They all seemed too large. He supposed he could ask Dean for advice, yet to his knowledge, Dean had only helped raise Sam. Somehow it was different.
