Anna sat up a little bit straighter at the sound of the heartbeat. She squeezed Cas hand back when Meredith started to explain that the baby ws alright. She let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding.
Anna looked over at Cas, opening her mouth to respond to Meredith and then stopped when she noticed the tears on Cas's face. She smiled and leaned up enough to kiss his temple, keeping a tight grip on his hand as she did. "That's good," she said, softly, because she wasn't sure she trusted herself to really say anything else right then. "That's good, he or she is safe, then. I mean. . ."
Anna wasn't sure exactly how to word what she meant without sounding crass. She felt ridiculous sometimes, but it was honestly something of a permanent fear in her mind that any number of things could have gone wrong. For someone who had fought angels and demons, something the size of a pea was turning her fairly neurotic.
