Pressing his forehead to hers, he supposed that argument was also valid, but to him, it didn't hold as much weight. The city, or perhaps more likely, whatever governed it, had done horrible things, but if he'd noticed any pattern at all, those who had disappeared had been those who'd had no attachment to it.
He understood that to voice his true opinion on the city and their predicament was likely not what others wished to hear and for that reason, he kept it to himself. Yet in all honesty, he preferred it. He missed the ability to travel at his own will, but given the nature of his back injury, he doubted he would have been able to keep that up for long anyway. If it had not crippled him, then his habits that came forth as a result likely would have. Anna had saved him and since the city had more or less given him Anna, he had few reasons to complain.
"I am not so easy to send away," he informed her bluntly. "And so long as you are here, this is where I will remain."
Cas was aware that it was partially an empty promise. He had no Grace and therefore, would likely be killed trying to fight whatever power there could potentially be, but that did not mean he wouldn't try. And if she were to go...he supposed some things were best not dwelt upon. He leaned against the edge of the table, standing between Anna's legs as he nuzzled his nose against hers. "I...spent a lot of time, contemplating what future I had left as a human, Anna. None of which seemed promising. Yet it led me to you...for that reason, I've decided there is only so much agonizing we can do. Occasionally we find ourselves pleasantly surprised."
Her reassurances were comforting, though he felt they would have to wait and see in order to find out what kind of parents they would be. He had no doubts over Anna. She'd taken care of him for as long as he'd been conscious and had shaped him into the angel he was. Or had been, until he'd relinquished his Grace. Smiling faintly, he nodded. His own proclivity towards alcoholism made that notion slightly alarming. "Our child will be loved," he assured her. "If we give him anything at all...that is not in short supply. As for the alcohol, I will make it clear he is not to imbibe until he is of age."
