Bruce was still shaking the Major's hand when Tony had interjected and his attention was briefly distracted as he went to look at his fellow colleague. "No offense, Tony, but if you hadn't stood me up and came to my room to see those scans that I was telling you about, then maybe my infidelity wouldn't be such a surprise to you." Bruce responded with a slight glint of a smile twitching at the corner of his mouth. "Besides, as far as I understood it, I had been replaced since your girlfriend got on the scene, I think I'm the one that has the feelings that've been injured here." Quietly, Bruce leaned towards Kaidan and continued to speak in his playful voice as he slipped into an undertone, "Sorry you had to see that."
Bruce enjoyed the little banter he made between himself and Tony - it was nice to feel this comfortable enough to tease someone, especially someone who wasn't afraid to give it back to him without any fear that he'd erupt into a snarling green monster. Kaidan's voice had caught the Doctor's attention again and, when he looked down into the Major's hand, he felt a little leap of excitement fluttering in his chest as he set his eyes on the crystal. "This... Is incredible, I was planning on finding one for myself..." he said as he gingerly picked up the stone from the other man's hand. The sensation of warmth started almost immediately at the tips of his fingers and began to spread throughout the rest of his body. Steve hadn't been kidding when he said that it shook the cold away... Bruce could hardly feel the mild chill that had followed him for days now; the one he couldn't get rid of, even after taking the hottest shower he could withstand.
He turned his head to look at the Captain when he told his story of himself and Hawkeye going to find the same stones for themselves. He couldn't deny that he felt a little disappointed that this was the first that he was finding out about their little excursion. As much as he would have loved to stay inside where it was warm, there was nothing that could hold him back from getting one of these crystals for himself... He just hadn't got around to it yet.
"Well... If they're ones that are planning on stepping on us," Bruce had finally turned his attention back to Tony as he slipped the little stone into his pocket, immediately feeling it warming the outside of his leg. His eyes briefly met Kaidan's and he gave the man a small nod of thanks - he could not wait to examine this... "I doubt that they would be leading us out to these stones... Don't get me wrong, I think they're great and... I'm not about to complain if there is another source or another power out there that's trying to help us. It's good to be thinking about the bigger picture ahead of us, but I think if there's one thing that I've learned from being here these past few months...
"It's to always expect the unexpected. Every time I think I get a handle on this place, it throws another curve ball... So for now," Bruce continued, turning to look back at the others in the room, "I'd say we take the good fortune while we've got it. Knowing our luck, by next week they'll have completely disappeared like they never existed."
